for nutritional profile you wont beat quest bars, i like the white raspberry and cookies and cream..taste wise ''oh yeh'' bars are ridiculously good but a glorified snickers bar essentially...phd make some tasty peanut butter flapjack type things...i get most of my stuff from discountsupplements they seem fair enough

Yep. Protein bars are generally shìt. Its like that new coke life - not as nice as real thing but still bad for you.

Only exception is homemade meal replacement flapjacks

I wouldn't say a protein bar like a Quest bar is "bad for you".

What exactly is bad for you about it?

Is it as good as getting protein from a none processed source? probably not, but it far better than eating a pack or Oreos or real Cinnamon buns. Because they are actually "bad for you" when eaten regularly.

imo the only protein bar worth buying is a quest bar. Why? Because they have 4g of net carbs and about 18g of fibre. So even on a keto / very low carb day you can have one guilt free, its not going to negatively impact your goals.

Any of the syntha 6 style bars that are ~350 calories and have 20g of starchy carbs and 10g of fat are pointless imo. Its €4 for the same macros as a snickers bar and a 25g protein shake. Which could be had for 70c

Why not have the actual bar / snack you are craving instead of an expensive, less tasty imitation for ~5 times the price

Musclepharm do a new protein bar, much tastier than Quest bars, IMO.

    8 oz black beans (dry)
    6 eggs
    6 tbsp peanut butter
    3 scoops chocolate whey
    1 cup sugar/stevia
    2 tbsp oat flour
    1 tsp baking soda

Is a slightly tweaked version of PIC

    I make my own with:
    200g 70% Cocoa chocolate
    100g crushed almonds
    100g raisins
    100g peanut butter
    150g double choc whey protein
bottle of orange essence flavour just because

Melt the chocolate, mix in everything else and work the arm for a few minutes until it's a good consistency.
Put it in a lined tin, leave to cool to room temp, cut into 12 and wrap and store in the fridge.
Assuming my maths is correct each one is 260 calories, 12g carbs, 14g fat & 15g protein.

    great stuff guys!

can i ask, what peanut butter is best and where to get it

also Black beans, where can i pick these up? Asian shops?

I just use Panda peanut butter from Tesco but any type should do. The majority of the 'glue' to hold them together comes from the chocolate.
