How dare Joan Burton have lunch during her day, disgraceful.

Tbh the OP is just another inflammatory biased opinion, I give it about zero weight in political terms.

According to the latest Ipsos MRBI poll, she's the most popular of the party leaders. That must really cause a twist in some people's Calvin Klein jocks...

HMV? Is that where you buy video tapes and audio cassettes? (Actually it is HMV Xtravision so its not exactly something "new" but it may be for KK. :) )

Is Joan Burton not a citizen too? Citizens gotta eat! I had some lunch earlier. Where was my mob? I protest, and funnily enough, my protest makes exactly as much sense as yours.

    ;)

Wonder were they actually peaceful protesters or scumbags shouting "peaceful protest", like the ones we see all over the Internet the past few months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,412 ✭✭✭✭endacl

If you look at the video clip on Facebook you can clearly see they were harmless soft spoken people just tying to make a valid point,

Maybe JB could avail of the service of the Dublin trauma group to get therapy after all the trauma she had experienced from these concerned citizens.

Indeed it does. It says that people are sick to the teeth of people claiming Garda brutality and abuse of powers at protests where the protesters are anything but peaceful and like to edit videos to suit their purpose.

Waterford gets nothing from national government - because every time we get a minister to visit (so we can ask for jobs, infrastructure, etc) they get shouted at (usually SHAME SHAME) what ever that is - try welcome our national politicians, sit with them - tell them our problems - they may be more likely to fund local projects & jobs!

By 'anti water thingy', I presume you mean 'finally being asked to pay for something thingy'? There's a certain cohort of people in this country who won't pay for anything themselves unless it's a big telly, a sky subscription, a few cans of Dutch gold, and a feed of chips. It must have come as a bit of a shock to think there'd be a bill arriving in their door addressed to them instead of the department....

Lot of not so wise ones with water on their brains, if they read the op they would realize a number of causes were represented ,and moan burt is directly responsible for their grievances.......

For the benefit of people new to this thread, I've quoted the OP in question. As you can see, Hoffmans's opening makes, if anything, slightly less sense than his most recent. Although, paradoxically, it is more coherent?

Hoffmans, I hope for the sake of these 'causes', you're not the spokesperson for any!

    :D

Do you think many of them support Irish Water?

Maybe if the Govt didnt have to give Irish Water hundreds of millions more than they'd intended out of general taxation, there'd be more money for one parent families...

So the lone parents should be telling the anti-Irish water protesters to STFU...

I wonder did the Joan burton cavalcade pull up at a topaz at any stage ? Isn't Irish water a subsidiary of topaz? Free fuel and sandwiches etc. 😄

other grievances.... most of them get free money.... free housing..... its about time a lot of people actually took responsibility for their own circumstances...
There are a lot of people who actually need state aid... but even during the height of the celtic tiger we had 4% unemployment, when anybody falling of the plane could get a job.... there is a certain class of people who have made a lifestyle choice of living off the state...

as regard to the protest... how many turned up??? a dozen???

I haven't bothered putting my brain into gear to figure out what the OP was griping about. Any argument that relies on derogatory personal descriptions in childish language to make a point is not worth getting into.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,412 ✭✭✭Road-Hog

can anyone define what a peaceful protest should be......my attempt would be 'a Group of people with banners and placards (and maybe some chanting an effective /appropriate phrase marching up and down a road/street or stationary if at an event that has speakers / speeches in a civilised but effective manner???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,685 ✭✭✭barneystinson
