This one is slightly different, they've relocated to the US I think and are doing it from there.

Boo urns. Prefer cars we actually get here.

I'd love a show set in a garage again, along the lines of The Garage.

I'm a big fan of the show. It's far from perfect but it's still a goodun.

I have it set for Monday. I loved the garage such a pity they didn't keep it going.

Ah won't be the same without Mike 'turn a profit' brewer.

Rather an acquired taste I'd say chief, but imagine those things were made with 5l V8s!

Something tells me it's going to be Americanised in it's production and lose it's appeal.

The garage was gas craic. They nailed it with that location given the mix of cars, the odd famous face, the occasional mafia boss and then the mental owner.
    Good show.

And Mike back to saying dollars like in the trading up series.

The only cars from that list I'd even be remotely interested in watching are the BMW and VW, and maybe have a look at the PAcer.

It's a good show, if you try not think of that VW campervan! They made some mess of that!

Wheeler Dealers is good but preferred it before when the budget was 1 or 2,000 quid. gave me thoughts of doing it myself but never did. now I don't watch it as much with the big money they spend (turn out brilliant cars in fairness) but way out of most peoples price range

I'd watch Ed China work on a push bike

    Wheeler Dealer Mike is not.
    Worst Haggler I've ever seen.
I'm surprised Ed hasn't pasted the sh1te out of him by now for coming in and saying "Ed! What have you being doing? It looks exactly the same as when I was last here!"

    I still like it though.

Absolutely, I know Jock Campbell was a bit of a bully, but it was a good show.

Yes mad thing is the smallest engine they came in was 3.5 litre, biggest was 5 litre. After seeing one in Waynes World I presumed super mini 1.5 litre engine or less.

Have to agree with you there, loved when it was cheap as chips cars, you'd be trawling carzone after looking for a little bargain to fix up and sell on :)

Saying that I still love the newer shows and am looking outward to the new series :)

They only seem to fix cars you'll never really get your hands on over here. Really lost it's appeal and Top Gear has been a load of ****e for a long time now..

we need a new car show........

I think fifth gear is the only one I can watch now, top gear is too scripted and gimmicky

    Anybody watch the first episode?

Nice GTO and a good bit of Edd/mechanical stuff. Brewer made a balls of the sale though.

No , he got it sold, so that is a result.

From day one every car had to be sold , hence wheeler dealers is still goin all these years later, otherwise it would be a yard full of rusty unfinished projects and a cancelled series.

Plus he also made a "profit" on the GTO

He's the opposite to a hoarder and is to be admired for that alone.

I see the production budget has gone through the roof , with multiple angle and motion shots of the GTO in iconic Chicago , which Spielberg would be proud of.

Always does "It's just not the right time of year to be selling <insert car here> so I have had to take a lower offer"

Good first episode. I was worried they would Americanize the shíte out of it too but it's more or less the same apart from the use of dollars and the odd extra slow mo panning shot! The only problem with this series is they have already done most of the American classics already so the lineup isnt that interesting.

That dollars business annoyed the hell out of me in "trading up"

I heard that a lot. Cant say it bothered me personally. There was a genuine reason for it and I forgot about it after a bit. I actually found it easier to relate to dollars compared to pounds.

From what I remember reading, a friend of Jock's was kidnapped and held for ransom or something like that. That was from a reliable source close to the project.

American dollars was easier for people around the world to relate to than £STG.

A series in the States. Fantastic. Love American cars.

The dollars thing but annoy me in trading up when I started watching it, especially when he was doing deals and had to keep converting it for the cameras...from dollars...to Australian...to pounds...and then I'm thinking Euro.

Overall though it was a very enjoyable show...as is wheeler dealers itself..

Be interesting to see what automotive language he uses. Is it a show made in the states for us still, or is it being made in the states, for the states?
