Good one tonight I reckon. Pascal is an interesting challenge for Kovalev. Could force him to work much harder than he's had to thus far, provided he's willing to go to Kovalev and not spend the night circling him.

I fully expect a Kovalev win but an upset wouldn't shock me. Pascal is a great athlete and has power. Rumour going around is that kovalev was dropped in sparring recently and has been knocked down before. Should be a good scrap

There are definitely some doubts about Kovalev's chin. But he hits so hard it's a dangerous game putting that theory to the test. Has the makings of a great fight.

Don't know who's on the undercard to be honest. Chilemba wins this by a country mile on my card no one would disagree I think.

I actually thought he beat Bellew at least once. He was a spoiler in that fight and tonight he wouldn't really engage so he's tough viewing but I agree, if he had more power he'd be a lot more praised. I don't think HBO will be queuing for his services again.

Agree with you. He could of easily got the decision in the first fight and no one would of complained

I think Wlad would beat both at the same time in a handicap match.

This is a mandatory for Wlad. Both are small heavyweights, I'd hate to see him fight either.

Russian guy is out of his depth

Are you for real. He's a class fighter and hard puncher too

Good action so far. The dominant feature is Kovalev's jab. Pascal struggling with it already.

Wow, Pascal doing quite well in round 3, then Kovalov took over and hurt him a number of times. It looks bad for Pascal right now.

Kovalev giving him a lesson, a right beating. Some animal

Pascal is a brave man. He did well to survive the 4th and I thought he might have actually rattled Kov with a right at one stage.

Pascal well still in it after that rnd

Wahay, Pascal IMO took the 5th. Kovalev seems a lot more respectful of what's coming back at him now. It's getting interesting.

    Kov's hands gone very slow

Still one sided, 5 round now for kovalev

Thought Kov won the 6th, but pascal is right in it.
    Kov's jab is still dominating.

Pascal is a strong lad though and kovalev slow down as fight goes on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭megadodge

The straight left immediately following the 1-2 catches and hurts Pascal all the time. Kov's 7th.

Perfectly good stoppage. Pascal's legs were all over the place.
Kovalev gets more and more impressive.

Super performance. Power, speed and terrific variety. He's a credit to the sport. What a jab to the body; PBF take note. My one minor issue was when he had Pascal in the corner right at the beginning of the 34d or 4th, he could have used the uppercut a bit to penetrate the guard. He seemed a bit out if ideas on offense.

Agree with everything except for the speed part.I think he has very good timing and accuracy but I wouldnt see him as a speed merchant and that for me makes the Adonis fight more interesting.

Agreed. I was more implying speed in the sense that he is deceptively fast. Not a fighter who has natural blazing speed.

Smith I think, the commentator mentioned it was spite. I thought it was Kovalev wanting to tell someone that Pascal was not fit to continue...

If it was sneery then it was bang out of order, and it wouldn't surprise with with Kovalev. He has form.

if it was another fighter I would not have really noticed, but kovalev does have previous as you have mentioned

Kovalev is mean. Wouldn't surprise me if he was just laughing at how done Pascal was.

I think he was just reacting to him being allowed to continue though.
