Vapefest Ireland 2015 - updated 22nd June - Date and Venue set

We are delighted to announce Vapefest Ireland 2015 will be held at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on Saturday, November 14th!

The event is FREE to the public and open to EVERYONE over 18.

This year we are asking you folks in the Irish Vaping community to consider bringing a friend, someone who might want to quit smoking or someone who is curious about it.
We can’t think of a better platform to help them quit!

More details will be announced on the website as they become available.

Why cant last years crowd do it? They did a really good job!

maybe it needs to be more commercial, i.e. profit in it for the organisers for it to be both a quality event and sustainable in the long run

It would be class if they had it in the RDS or somewhere like that. Would get a lot of extra exposure that way. Maybe in a few years from now it will. The Lucan Spa hotel area was pretty much full at the height of it, at the last Vapefest anyway.

Hi Guys Ronan here,

Thank you all for your lovely comments, I'm the only member from last year that will be contributing in full this year.

Ken, Paul, Ben & Dave are all tied up, Vapefest took months of extraordinary work in 2014 and the lads just simply don't have the time.

Im out of the country untill the 23rd, Sorry if I haven't responded to your PMs I have very limited internet access.

The event was really well done. I wonder though would the vendors who were there last year be as generous as they were this time round?

I mean... That was a lot of free shıt! I did buy two raffle tickets but I came away with like €200 odd worth of stuff!

Damn! I think I was the only person there who didn't win anything, although I was one of the first people to buy tickets so mine were probably well burried. Hope it goes ahead again this year, was great crack and the best opportunity to try out a wide range of flavors.

I don't have any of the above bar maybe some event management from helping with car shows in the past but i would help in anyway i can,i offered last year but no one contacted me.

Just in case, since I haven't seen it mentioned in any other threads, and this hasn't been updated...

Don't forget that Vapefest is now on over two days instead of one. 14th & 15th of November from 1pm to 7pm both days.

That is actually a drawback for me. Does that mean two raffles? two lots of freebies from vendors? Are the same vendors there both days? etc. etc.

Yeah, back to one day, the 14th. 10am - 7pm.

It is with great regret that Vapefest 2015 has to go back to the original “One Day Only” event. This is totally out of our control and was something that could never have been planned for at the time of originally booking the location.

With the Irish senior soccer team qualifying for the Euro 2016 play offs and their home game being scheduled for Monday 16th November, the security procedure at the Aviva calls for a total lock down 24 hours before the game. The area we are using is also being used as the players lounge area.

So as you can imagine, we have had some long winded negotiations with the Aviva and they have been as fair as possible in allowing us to have the Saturday for the event.

As such, we will be opening the doors at the earlier time of 10am and going all the way through to 7pm sharp.

We could not make any announcement earlier as we had to make sure all vendors were able to cope with this change back again. We hope this has not caused any extra expense to anyone and we can only apologise for this.

Once again, we hope you understand and we can’t wait to see you all on Saturday the 14th November at the Aviva.

Just wondering if there is going to be any marketing about the event any time soon?
Anyone I mention it to has no idea a) what it is b) when or where it's on.
Do we need to get tickets? Think it is a free event but is it ticketed?

Really any info would be good. Have money put by to upgrade at it (fingers crossed for good discounts!)

Oh i do but the first thing that comes my way is questions on it.... But with no answers it's only off putting....
I know nothing bar the date venue and it's free.... BUT no idea if it's ticketed free, will ya have to buy currency token things etc.... And With what two weeks to go one would expect some sort of advertising or marketing to gather interest from those who haven't heard about it.

The only people I have spoken to that know about it are people who frequent boards.

LOL! ...man, i feel you on the lack of response rgding VF. I'am actually providing sound for the event, and it took me having to send 4 mssgs (the last one not being so nice) to FINALLY get a reply. Kevin from VF got in touch and sorted it all out -good man, Kevin! ;-) ...After speaking with him, i got abit clued in on whats going on, and basically they are just up the walls. Fair enuff. But yeah, i guess thats the nature of the beast? ...when your trying to organize big events, etc... My advice, -GO! Despite the lack of communication, i think it will all go down quite well :-)

It's free not ticketed, there will be 50/60 vendors/manufacturers there from all over the world Cuttwood, Beard Vape, Suicide Bunny, E-Smoke Ireland, Cigatec to name a few. Most if not all of these will be offering discounts (up to 20% and more if last year is anything to go by). There's a raffle, some talks and how to sessions. 2 special guests so far announced Grimm Green and Pip the Bunny. The bar will be open for drinkies. Sorry guys I'm alive!

Just to clarify a few things!

We had a LOT of marketing material done, printed and ready for distribution, I still have about 10,000 + flyers and posters in my end room.
When the FAI dropped the bomb with the home game the Aviva could do nothing, the Sunday was out regardless of contracts that were signed.
At this point we were ready for distribution and advertising, all was printed paid and done but it's all useless now.

The new material was sent out today, and should be up in store fronts and the usual spots before the end of the week, it's not ideal but with the current time frame it's the best we could do.

The event is 100% fee, No tickets no nothing, the same as Vapefest has always been. (it's stated on the homepage)

Most vendors will have a chip and pin device but not all.

I'll be watching this topic actively over the coming days so if you need anything answered please ask away here.
