Just heard myself - cue endless mindless speculation. No doubt twitter will have the half truth later.

    Telegraph article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11462167/Jeremy-Clarkson-suspended-from-Top-Gear.html

Wilman and Clarkson have worked hand in glove for years now, of course the producer may have been some black lesbian with a save the whale/Nuclear power Nein Danke sticker who drives a 2VC

It's time for the Top Gear crew to stick two fingers up to the obsessively politically correct BBC and move to another channel. 150 million a year that show makes for the BBC, so while a lot of us may think Clarkson says the occasional stupid thing, an awful lot more are happy to watch the show as entertainment.

The only thing we'll have left is Gardeners World, and even there we'll hear complaints that there isn't a martian transgender lesbian who hasn't the first clue about plants as the lead presenter.

How was the show doing in the ratings?

    This too shall pass.

    5 million per week.

    A "fracas"?
Seriously, there is no way Clarkson would go for something as French sounding as that.

It's the most popular show on BBC2, each episode in the two-part Christmas special was watched by more than 7 million people last year, with another 3 million for each episode on iPlayer ....... that's over 10 million viewers per episode!!
He's too valuable to be let go ......... plus he's a cerebrated rarity these days, very few real people on TV, it's full of politically correct robots!!

I dunno why a fracas should stop the show being broadcast, sure some bits wouldn't be in the can yet but the other two could fill in where required.

Apparently it's filmed in front of a live audience on a weekly basis to keep it current so it would look odd having the other two presenters in the studio with Mr. Clarkson appearing only in the pre-recorded segments ......... plus it works best as a trio, a duo wouldn't feel/look right I think.

Ah whatever happened to "the show must go on" eh?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,966 ✭✭✭✭syklops

Clarkson was put on what was called his final warning last year following a racism row after claims that he used the n-word while reciting a well known nursery rhyme which includes the N-word during filming of the BBC2 programme.

Stop the world. I want to get off.
"Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation

I hope he did something bad like punch him.

So, Jeremy has had an offer from other parties and is currently renegotiating his contract.

Please let him host the Late Late just once. I'll even supply the drinks.

this is ridiculous, Top Gear is one of the biggest shows because of Clarkson and his antics, in recent years i would hazard a guess that every media outlet in the uk media hasn't missed one second of it for fear of missing that one thing Clarkson does that they can twist into a "new" scandal.

not to mention this ridiculous merry go round between Clarkson and the BBC, while we don't know what exactly goes on i hazard a fair assumption that they need him as much as he needs them, so this "suspension" in my opinion is them desperately trying to assert their dominance in this relationship again.

if they really were sick of him and wanted him gone he would be, just like Jonathan Ross was.

Nice opportunity for the stig to take over presenting now there's an opening...

Top Gear will be going nowhere since Clarkson sold his share of the show to the BBC.

Is there nobody else who can do as good or better job then him? I would like to think so.

For most of the people who watch the show Jeremy Clarkson is Top Gear. I don't think anybody could replace him with the same success.

I tend to agree ,unfortunately, just a pity he lets himself down saying stupid things every so often.

Not a hope, it's worth too much money, I wonder if the BBC are brave enough to replace JC.

My god that was a bit of nostalgia.

Love the bit when she said" ..... And this lada even comes with wash wipers, usually a feature on far more expensive cars...."

We've come a long way in cars, and the show has moved with the times.

Clarksons top gear v2 is a success not just because it is a car show, it is arguably a success that it is more than that. It is an entertainment show.

And whether you like it or nor clarkson and the chaps are the epicentre of its success.

Like certain other BBC presenters of the past he thought he was untouchable.

There is a documentary on the Red Arrows on Sunday in the Top Gear slot called Inside the Bubble.

And Caribbean with Simon Reeve is on the following Sunday.

He gave a producer a slap. That's a long way from raping children. And I don't even like the guy.

Personally I preferred Top Gear when it was a show about reviewing all models of cars, and had segments on motorsport and the second hand trade.

Clarksom's Top Gear with the three twats gallavanting around dong things that would appeal to a five year old got old very quickly. I haven't watched it in years. Fifth Gear over on Channel 5 was a much better show if youwere actually interested in cars.

I hope they chuck him. His little englander antics have gotten very tiresome.

You must have not watched 5th gear in years as all new epps are now on the History Channel watched the new epp there this week it was so boring watching them review a renault twingo by talking about how much it can fit in its boot over a VW up.

But the thing is top gear might not be evenness cup of tea but a hour on Sunday night could be wasted on watching something a lot worse then top gear

Maybe you should have kept watching! Old TG looks like something from a different age the one before the internet made reviews of boot space and electric windows utterly redundant.

Or maybe Clarkson could stop acting like he's on a one man crusade to resurrect the British Union of Fascists. It'd be easier.

That man is nothing but a clown at this stage, an idiotic clown who if the world were right and moral everybody would ignore.
