No he doesn't. He just couldn't be arsed. Sure I've chronic illness and I still try. There's no excuse in my opinion.

Aw man how did you miss it!!! I've posted about it constantly lol.
I'm very very brunette. Tried dye my hair grey. Hairdresser bleached it, it turned copper, and then he put a yellow toner on orange hair so it actually turned green. THE STATE! Of it.

Oh no, what kind of hair dresser would try and dye it all in the one go, it takes ages to do something like that, I know all about hair dyes as I've nearly been every colour under the sun :D

I know, I was snapping!!! I went back into him and said look my hairs green and he goes "it's not that bad"! I have spent a fortune on treatments because my poor hair is fried to bits!

I don't have the time to wait around for someone to get their life together. Fair play to your cousin though.

Why the rush...it's surly worth a date...he could be just downplaying the good points....even at least break up the weekend

Like I had WANs tell me before they'd not be interested as I didn't go to collage properly/get a degree....like doesn't bother me...like I know heaps who've degrees and never worked!

No point in working if it's making you unhappy IMO

I didn't go to college because of fear of how I'd be treated there, but I still did as much as I could in my own time. Despite that, I sometimes think that some people look down on me for not going. :(

Nonsense! I'd respect someone even more for taking it upon themselves to learn skills on their own. :)

Meh, as long as a guy has ambition. I have two friends, a couple, who don't work and I get so frustrated. Rent allowance, medical card, dole, they're talking about having kids. That attitude pisses me off. Get up and work for it. Anyone can fall on hard times but when people can't be bothered to change, is when I've a problem with it

Definitely. I couldn't just "not work", it's so soul destroying to me.

It's not about college. Sure I worked in a trade most of my life. I don't look down on him but I don't see the point in meeting him. College is expensive. I bought just one book today and it cost me 46 euros.

I'd love not to work! But more in a winning the lottery kinda way.

I always joke about not working/being a kept woman, but even going for dinner or to the cinema, he'll pay for the tickets, I'll get the food. He gets dinner tonight, I get it the next night. Despite being together so long, I'm still fiercely independent and would hate to be relying on someone else for money.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 8,867 ✭✭✭eternal

Any date I go on I pay for half of everything. I think it's only fair.

College isn't everything and it's so expensive too. I'd never look down on someone for not going and it's not for everyone.

I would never look down my nose at someone, due to their education or career or lack of a career and no college. If they're good, decent people, it's all that matters. I was only saying to someone earlier that I can't stand snobbery in any form. People that look down their noses at others are obviously quite insecure, or lead sad lives. Money isn't everything, even though it would be nice to have enough to buy a house, etc.

I have some friends that don't work for different reasons. They are quite happily getting on with their lives, and rightly so. God knows why people might not have jobs. No, it's not always due to being lazy. It could be down to various factors, such as an illness or disability.

I am insecure but I don't look down on him. You said your friends are happy, this guy isn't happy. I don't see us having anything in common plus he has a drug problem. Some people are too sick and all that and I appreciate it. Different people want different things.
This is my seventh year studying. I must be mad.

It doesn't sound like something I'd recommend pursuing, to be honest. I think it's best to find someone else.

You can get most of these books online for free. Just sayin'.

Most of them have been ripped to PDF or eBook format.

Is it legal? Mehh.... does it save you cash on stupidly overpriced texts?

    Yes.

    I'll have a look.
You never answered my PM you tease. Tell me where I find the books too if you wish.
