Losing Belly/Facial weight from Beer and Carbs?

    Hi guys

Just looking for some advice or hints/tips regarding shifting some belly fat.

I'm 30 years old, 6'2 tall and weigh about 14 stone.

I'm well built, straight up and down, but recently I've started to develop a beer gut as well as slight additional weight on my neck/chin over 4 or 5 months, which has kinda knocked my self confidence a bit.

I will admit to being partial to a beer - would go out maybe 1 night a week - probably talking 8 pints per sitting, and maybe another night drinking at home (10 or so cans of beer).

Diet wise - zero fast foods or take aways but a lot of carbs (pastas, potatoes, lasagnes)

Little or no junk food like chocolate or crisps save for the occasional bit of ice cream.

I considered cutting down the drinking or even changing my drink of choice, but have now decided to give up up completely for a minimum 2 months at the very least.

Not particularly active (office job, work 50+ hours)

Will gladly take any advice on board.

    Thanks

in fairness it's fairly obvious what you need to do. Cut out or at least back on the drink.

You mention lasagne so I'm guessing your eating processed foods as well. cut them out of your diet. go for fresh produce.

There's no way to focus on your stomach or anywhere else. It's just a matter of eating properly and doing a bit of exercise

No mention of what your vegetable intake is. Do you like a wide range of veg? If not, try to create ways that veg tastes nice to you. Parboiling in water and sauteing in butter with salt+pepper is an easy way)

My small suggestion would be to make it your mission to reduce the bread/pasta and increase your veg intake a lot. Using a mix of root and leafy (and to a lesser extent, stem) is a nice template to use and is hard to go wrong when eaten with, say, a big steak.

Cut out white carbs, sugar. Up fiber intake and protein. More fruit and veg. 2 LITERS of water daily and some exercise.
Needs lots of will power and motivation

If you go two months off of the beer, cut back on the carbs big time, avoid processed foods and do some weights you should see a big difference in two months.
I also eat breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and and evening snack as opposed to eating three larger meals.

Your fat. Take up an intense sport or go to the gym. You don't get localized fat without building up large stores of fat around your organs putting your health at risk.

Stress diet and exercise need to be managed now you are a little older

8 pints is about 2000 nutritionally useless calories that drain your body of vitamins and minerals. Every pint makes you less healthy.
