Flat Stomach - How??

    Hi all, I have a young child well she's 2 but recently I find myself so conscious about how I look as in my stomach, that little roll of flab at the base of my tummy has never disappeared and its getting to the point now I'm actually feeling very aware of it all of the time.
    So what is the best form of exercise to do to try flatten your tummy! Is there such a thing. I have recently just done a pilates course and now hope to start trx to tone up more. Have any of the rest of you felt like this or what have you done???

    The exercise is great but the main driver in losing body fat is your diet.

    Its true but baby flab can be very local.

    To help tone up lower abs a very very good diet (NOT WHAT ANY MAGAZINE RECOMMENDS) I actually mean a healthy diet.

    And leg raises, walking, jogging, swimming is very underrated but great for firming your core.

    I wouldnt argue against it.

    But a woman with a flabby lower belly can have practically nothing to do with diet. It wasn't the cause, although it can be part of the solution. Muscles in the lower abdominals become stretched during pregnancy and exercise can have a significant visual improvement effect in tightening the area.

    Its hard to advise without meeting the client, if you are 10 stone + work very very hard on your diet. If you are 8 stone and otherwise toned, work very very hard on lower ab exercises and swim/walk a LOT

    YouTube will show you different leg raises. Do as many different ones as you can to make sure you are hitting them hard

    Thanks all very much for the replies. Typical day is breakfast which could be corn flakes or Weetabix and mug of tea. Then dinner would be potatoe, veg and a meat, I alter the meat, white meat, fish, red meat etc. Then tea would be a white bread sandwich but more recently I've substituted white bread to brown batch, or an omlette or scrambled egg.
    I think or know my biggest downfall is when I come in from a night shift, I could eat peanuts, or bag of crisps, or something quick and handy......so even just typing this I can see where I should start trying to change.....thanks, will look into all those leg exercises too

    I'm absolutely no expert but I've learned a few things over the years with my battle.

    from what i can see your doing yourself no favours. get rid of the cornflakes. basically just sugar.

    Would you try some porridge with a small bit of cinnamon or honey or grilled bacon poached egg some mushrooms and tomato.

    Try wholemeal bread and have a salad sandwich. my favourite is grilled bacon, gem lettuce, spinach leaves, peppers and onion with a teaspoon of mayo.

    I always have either turkey, chicken, ham or salmon with steamed broccoli carrots cauliflower and 2 or 3 baby spuds.

    i snack on apples and oranges.

    i understand the hardship of nightshift. Your basically (in my case anyway) craving carbs and sweetness. When i work nights 7-7 i usually get my dinner around 6.30 pm. then a light salad round half 11 and then my breakfast at half 6 before i finish. to be the craving for sweetness i would normally make a smoothie with black/ blue/ rasp and strawberry. That usually helps me.

    with regards to exercise it's just pot luck. you could lose inches of your arms and legs before you lose anything off your belly.

    I've lost 7 stone over the last 2.5 years so i must be doing something write so i hope this helps.

    That's great info thanks v much. I have started using wholemeal bread and having turkey / ham salads as sandwich. Tonight now I had my dinner this eve rather than dinner time and I'm feeling not as hungry. So maybe changing around a few things and the way I'm thinking may just help

    Yep.

    Most should have them anyway. The bacon ones look like rashers with the rind trimmed off them leaving an oval piece of meat.
