    This will end well.

Why don't you just text most of them the name of some local b and b's? Where they sleep is not your responsibility.

Post the party details here first so I know what I'm dealing with. Time, date, address etc. I'll be able to give a better answer then.

Oh sorry, a birthday, not a kidnapping.

Be a little weary of the numbers you are expecting, iv worked in bars where people insist on taking the large function room and tonnes of food due to crowd expected but more often than not doesn't materialise...
Maybe this doo will be different but take some rsvp's with a pinch of salt...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 484 ✭✭Blink182rock

Its in middle of no where, and there wouldn't be enough room for b and b!

If not sleep, somewhere to stay out of the house... so any great ideas?

Appreciate that, but if even half of whats expected comes, they still won't fit in the house comfortably!

Murder everyone as soon as they arrive and dump the bodies in the back garden.

    Problem solved.

You'll only need half the number of beds you think as they'll all be riding each other

Set up some tents, set up a makeshift fire pit and make it into a glamping/festival type adventure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,459 ✭✭✭Chucken

How about people bring their own tents?

21 year olds can sleep in tents these days I presume?

Students are mostly broke. By my recollection, it was always the square people who insisted that everyone be out of the boring party at 1am, and back to their Gaeltacht-type Mná na tithe.

If you're sending people off to guesthouses, most of the guests probably won't even bother turning up.

The best 21sts are those where guests sleeps on the sofas/ in a tent in the garden/ on the garden furniture. Might be an awkward time for your family, but a memorable birthday for everyone else.

Bottom line: don't be one of those people who sends students to B&Bs.

    You're 21, not 50. Use your imagination.

There's a fairly simple, if somewhat harsh way to figure this out OP. How popular/attractive are you really (be honest with yourself)? Given your need to seek advice on important matters from randomers on the internet I think the question answers itself. The 5 people (mostly at the prodding/bribing of your relatives) who will actually show up to your party will be easily accomodated, don't you worry.

I agree.. I have no intention of sending people away for that crack. I just want to make it somewhat reasonable , as it will be pretty frezing cold!

Hire a marquee/tent kinda thing and let them have the party in that. Tell them bring their own sleeping bag.:)

Give them all the number of a local taxi firm and tell them to feck off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,962 ✭✭✭✭dark crystal

Could you not hire a mini bus between ye and book it to collect the guests at, say, 5 am or something?

Well where are you from? if you're anywhere near dublin just have it in the city centre and let people get home themselves, its your birthday don't worry about where people sleep.

I could work that, its just the idea of sleeping outside, when its going to awful cold is the problem here..

If I could hire a prefab or something it would be great, but doubt be worth it for one night !

Its in galway, out the country , with people travelling from college, from all around the country.. and even the 'locals' are about half hour or more away, so say some could go home on bus..but then the rest will need some thing outdoors...etc

Dwarf throwing would go down even better. They make comfy pillows, too, so two birds one stone and all that.
