Thanks for the memories; one of heart and soul icons (ironically) of the Star Trek universe.

    RIP.

Wow, I had no idea he was that old. Well that's sorta sad.

It's okay. They find him alive in the next movie.

The BBC finished off his obit with his final scene in the last but one Star Trek film.

It was a good way to say goodbye.

Saw it mentioned yesterday he was in hospital, damn :( RIP

Very sad about this I feel I know him all my life.

He played the Spock character perfectly.

83 is a great age for us but is very young for a Vulcan.

He was excellent on The Simpsons

Wasn't he one of the little rascals:rolleyes:

I wasn't expecting this, despite his recent admission to hospital.

He was a bit of a polymath (actor, director, poet, photographer and not a bad country singer). I got the impression that he lived a full life. He was one of the people who I kind of hoped could live forever.

Anyway, there goes a true pop culture icon and someone of whom it can be genuinely said that he was an inspiration to many, and not just to those of us who are more than peripherally aware of Star Trek.

Let's try and bear Leonard's own immediate family in mind too!. They must been going through absolute hell at this moment.

just remembered: he also did the voice for Sentinal Prime in Transformers: Dark of the moon as well.

There was a great post from someone on reddit that sent chills up my spine:
I once worked for him, assisting on a photography exhibit of his. At the end of the day as we were saying goodbye he shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said, "Live long and prosper." I felt as though I had been blessed by some space-pope. Wonderful man. RIP

falling ice caused by a klingon tazer.

sht happens on away missions. always add a black guy to the team.
A trekkie would never have made such a rookie mistake. Red shirts. Actually every franchise has had main non white characters. Star Trek had the first TV interacial kiss.

You should get an infraction for such a heinous mistake in a Trekkie thread.

    Site ban at the minimum.

Sorry to see the great man has beamed up for the last time. RIP.

Awww he will be missed. Live long and prosper Dr Spock. *iconic Star Trek hand gesture* :(

If you know the gesture you should know Dr. Spock is a celebrity pediatrician. Mr. Spock is a Vulcan scientist.

To get upset at the death of someone you've never met would be... illogical.
But whoever said the human race was logical?

I'll probably cry a river the next time I watch the end of Star Trek II. :(

    Wonderful actor.

Best roles included, Mr. Spock, Science Officer Spock, Captain Spock and of course, Commander Spock.

Nimoy was also an unlikely sex symbol. According to the Los Angeles Times, when he spoke at Ohio’s Bowling Green State University in the 1970s, a young woman asked: “Are you aware that you are the source of erotic dream material for thousands and thousands of ladies around the world?”

“May all your dreams come true,” he responded.
