I thought Matawala was a scrum half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,973 ✭✭✭✭phog

That's a good team and we should certainly be winning this game and hopefully deny a LBP to Glasgow.

If ourselves and Ulster get 4 points and we deny a LBP to Glasgow we will all be on 52 points. If Leinster get 5 points away to Ospreys they'll join that group too. Tight or what.

On the team, LOD must have picked up an injury last week as Dineen is inluded on the bench but great to see Smith back from injuty.

Rumour is Donnacha Ryan will line out for Shannon this weekend to get a few minutes under his belt.

Plays anywhere really... Has started on the wing more often than scrumhalf this season.

Have to say I'm very happy with that team, all things considered. Can't wait to see CJ and JOD both on at the same time. Bonus: JJ starts and ROM gets his turn to impress out on the wing. Now, hopefully we can avoid being murdered in the scrum. 45 games left in the Pro12, 8 of them are league defining top of the table clashes and this is one of the biggest of those. It's also official opening of Irish Independent Park and it looks like it'll be close to a full house. The pitch will be fairly wet but the rain should be easing off between 6pm and 7pm. Have at 'em lads!

It's a strong Munster team considering all the injuries & internationals gone. Our 4th & 5th-choice 2nd rows are probably the best that far down the pecking order in the league, Holland's had a very good season imo. I'd nearly prefer to see JOD at 8 & Stander at 6 but it's a powerful back row. And with Killer, Archer, DOC2.0 & Butler all to be unleashed from the bench.

What's the story with KOB? Has been ahead of Guinazu & Scannell, must be injured now? Hoping Scannell gets a good run-out. Same with LOD, awful pity for him.

But having Keatley, Earls & JJ all in the backline is a good omen.

DOC2 has dropped out. Shane Buckley now on the bench.

We're looking strong so far. Almost a try there.

Great start from Munster, we look very lively.

How is Duncan Williams a pro player??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Williams saw the try line with that one.

    Botha the penalty machine :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Ahhhh butchered another try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Great break by Earls, but should he have gone outside? I think the inside ball was the right option, execution just not right with Matawalu doing well.

What an offload there by Hurley to Earls! Couple already.

EDIT- No, outside was definitely the right option.

Earls and Hurley both looking lively, Williams looking...

That play sums up earls as a 13 for me.

    HOW DIDN'T WE SCORE THERE?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Not another butchered try :(

    Earls on fire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Pace from Earls there and what a step and pass too! Desperately unlucky there... we have played some great rugby so far but we need to score!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,169 ✭✭✭Wang King

Earls is busting a gut tonight, try or 2 bwgire halftime at this rate

That play sums up earls as a winger for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Score?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Anatidaephobia

    Best at full back tbh.

We are absolutely dominating, beautiful rugby. Have to score!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Anatidaephobia

JJ is playing extremely well too. It's his passing that's setting up these backline moves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭budhabob

    Best at full back tbh.

Happy to have him on the pitch to be honest!

Hanrahan is making a huge difference.

Terrible inside pass by keatley. Hurley has been on fire so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Bad pass inside by Keatley there, silly really. Have to make this possession count.

Earls is punching holes in this Glasgow defence at will

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭shuffol

    Best at full back tbh.

I'd love to see him there. Most natural counter attacker in the country.

Earls has been brilliant so far. Regarding the inside pass earlier, ROM on the outside wasn't an option as he had overrun the support line. If Earls passed the ball to ROM, it would have been called up for a forward pass.

I can't believe that there has been no score yet.

    Another offload to Glasgow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Needed to score there, poor kick by Keatley.

    How are we not winning???

    Dislocated shoulder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Poor tackling there and lucky to get away with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Who missed him there? Seemed like half the team had a go

Conway, hit the ground and thought he did his shoulder

Credit to Glasgow some good scrambling has kept them in this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Anatidaephobia

Ok, seriously now. Just stop offloading.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,169 ✭✭✭Wang King

It's more like a 7's game...the ball shall not be brought to the ground!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

I'm finding it very hard to remember the last time we had so many line breaks.
    How have we not scored????!!!

Hurley is playing some lovely rugby. I think he has got better and better this season, and the captaincy has suited him.
