A productive day catching up after 2 days off sick.

Also hoping to get back to training for a half marathon after a week off training. Aiming for 3.5-4 mile run after work.

If I wrote what I really hope to achieve tomorrow you'd think I was joking. It's something very stressful, but it isn't anything health (or poo) related.

Tomorrow I hope to achieve the booking of a 2nd AC Tier train to Bangalore for a weekend of debauchery.

However this shall only happen if I can wrangle finishing up for the week early on Friday and not starting back until Monday afternoon.

So you've never been to Bangalore then, have you?

I was there twice for a week each. Debauchery is not a word you associate with Bangalore.

Making plans for tomorrow becomes yesterdays excuse. Today is the present and the present is where the real achievements are made.

You need to spend more time hanging out around M.G. road with the techies then. It's great craic. It's also got a fantastic microbrewery scene with bars like Windmill Craft Works, The Bierre Club, Toit Brewpub, Arbor Brewing Company, and there's an arseload of nightclubs like WXYZ and Skyye if you're into **** music and short skirts, or 13th Floor and Shiro if you want to be surrounded by rich upper caste types in stupidly expensive clothes drinking stupidly expensive wine.

If you couldn't find fun in Bangalore, you didn't try very hard.

    I disagree.

Each evening I go to bed knowing what my goal(s) is(are) for the following day.

It means that when I wake up the morning I already know what I'm doing, rather than have to think about it when I'm getting ready for the day ahead. Makes planning easier.

Then each evening, I know if I've achieved today's goal and what tomorrow's will be.

    Works for me :)

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Unless of course you can't be bothered.

Nothing wrong with planning but far too often you see people who say, tomorrow I will do this or that and then when tomorrow comes, its the next day.

I make plans; I have annual goals, monthly and weekly lists but if it can be done today, then its done today and never put off until tomorrow.

I firmly believe that I will break back under 39 minutes for a 10k run. My fastest ever time was a 37.17 but I pulled a groin muscle a few weeks ago skiing a black run that was at its most brutal and unforgiving because of a lack of fresh snowfalls.

A good physio, gentle stretches and easing back into my runs has me feeling as good as ever. A new brand of shoes will help as well.

    Wish me luck!

I am a bit jealous reading how some of you take the time and effort to plan goals for the next day. Its all I can do to wake up some mornings!
I need a PA to plan my daily goals for me.

Pottler and Mitty Industries should have the inside track on complex geopolitical matters through their consultancy arm. From bleeding radiators for cash to brokering a deal between the Russians and NATO.

It's that mixture of hard work, graft, and common sense that makes it a conglomerate worth watching.
