Stupid words and annoying statements!

To me there is nothing more annoying/infuriating than the spate of new descriptive terms I have been bombarded with via the internet and media over the past couple of years. Such as:
    • "Victim blaming" - sounds ridiculous.
    • "Fat shaming" - stupid term that promotes unhealthy lifestyles and tries to normalise obesity. Anyone who says "fat shaming" should be slapped with a fish.
    • "That is offensive" - So what? You're offended by something, who cares? Instead of stating your offence, why don't you produce a counter argument to the original "offensive" statement. Don't just say "oh I am so offended" and think it means something. It doesn't, it's just a moan.
    • "I demand an apology" - this is nearly the worst. Someone does or says something, everyone is offended or outraged, an apology is then demanded. It's like demanding an apology from someone is orgasmic to some people.

What words, phrases, or actions really annoy you as much as the above píss me off?

It drives me insane when people say ATM machine or PIN number.

Someone once said to me that they couldn't find their personal PIN number, my head nearly exploded!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Just as well your head didn't LITERALLY explode or you would have been my example. :)

"I tell it like it is."

    translates to:

"I talk ill-informed, bigoted, over-simplistic rot and don't expect to back my opinion up in the face of the smallest challenge.

Some good ones been mentioned. A series of really grating ones are "24/7", "A.S.A.P.", and "ASAP" (A.S.A.P. said as if it is an actual word, not four letters).

They are horrific. First of all, are you really in such a hurry to do something that you cannot simply say "twenty-four hours a day" or "as soon as possible"? Secondly, you're not American. So stop speaking like one. It's nearly as bad as Irish people saying 9/11 to reference September the 11th. When people say 9/11 I respond "the 9th of November? What happened on the 9th of November. Please do tell me more".

I dread the day I hear anyone refer to a Kilometre as a "Klick".

Albert Reynolds may have been a Fianna Fail gombeen bog man, but the fact that he always insisted on calling that kerfuffle at the twin towers the 11/9 attack pleased me greatly.

    Don't get me wrong.
A relation of mine uses this phrase and its usually a precursor to some debate in which she knows best and everyone is wrong.
