Hi, hope this is the right forum if not feel free to move.

My older sister is 40 this year, and the sisters would like to go on a spa break to celebrate. Looking for recommendations, and would also like to have something else to do, defiantly staying for 1 night & if not 2. Was looking at Monart & thats expensive and also couldn't see what else you could do when in the area.

The Europe in Killarney, The G in Galway, Hayfield in Cork, The Marker in Dublin. :D

    I love spas.

    The Monart in Enniscorthy.
Fab place - voted 3rd best spa in the world.
    Adults only resort.
Highly recommend - you will leave it so chilled and relaxed

You could visit St Mullins. Nice cafe there too. Borris is nice too. Boris house is gorgeous and do tours. The stephouse would be a good place for lunch. And graiguenamanagh has duiske abbey and cushendale woollen mills. You could top it off with a drive over mount leister and it would be a grand day out.

I am going to the Europe in a few weeks, can report back. Don't intend leaving the hotel all weekend except for a walk on the old Kenmare road.

I couldn't recommend Muckross house in Killarney high enough. Spa was great, rooms were great, dinner was delicious!!!! Fota Island resort in Cork also has a great spa, it's pretty far away from everything tho so you'd be pretty much staying in the hotel for the time or taking an expensive taxi.

There are a number of them I'd recommend in Cork, Kerry, Mayo. Maryborough hotel in cork is lovely, inchydoney, fota island are good too. Highly recommend the spa hotels in Tralee and Killarney. Heritage resort and spa hotel in portlaoise has a lovely spa experience. Knockcranney in Westport is lovely too.

The spa in the Europe in Killarney is unreal. I find the hotel itself a bit odd, can't quite put my finger on why. It's a bit too big or something. I've worked in there a few times when I was younger, so maybe it's different as an "outsider". But yeah, great spa!

Aghadoe Heights is another good one. Europe is in same area and would be nicer! The Brehon is also lovely. Smaller spa, but very nice.

Muckross Park I've heard is nice. Never been in the Spa part. But looks lovely! And some good deals can get found!

I only know Killarney hotels unfortunately..

Aghadoe Heights and Ballygarry House Hotel Spa's are lovely.

    +1 for Muckross!!

The spa is lovely and all staff are very professional, they have a good range of treatments too.

If you plan on staying, consider asking for an upgrade to a suite.. The Belfry Suite is absolutly beautiful!

Maryborough in Cork is lovely. Really nice warm relaxation pool. It's the ESPA brand, same as the spa in the G in galway.

Seafield in Co. Wexford, voted european spa of the year, has its own private beach which you access through a nice forest walk... the place is class, my bro bought me two nights there as a gift for my 30th, great food in the restaurant too...

Just back from the europe. It was lovely. The spa is gorgeous as are the views. It is a massive five star so not small and cosy at all but very nice. Absolutely full this weekend too. Would have liked one more night in it.

My friends and I love the Epa spa at both the Europe Killarney and at the Powerscourt Hotel Wicklow. Most professional spa brand, complete luxury and consistently great therapists. Both in beautiful locations with gorgeous grounds....and great food and accommodation. Highly reccommended

There's a reason The Monart is expensive.

It's quite simply the best spa I've ever been to.

Sometimes expensive things can be also good value.

Over the Christmas me, mum and my sister went to the Kingsley in Cork for a Spa day and must say it was lovely. You get to use the steam rooms and pool beforehand or after if you like. They were loverly really nice and relaxing. You can stay there but we did not. I will say the bar and restaurant service left them done,as in we walked away in the end but maybe if you book it is different.
