The company that had HQ here were big in the 80s/90s.
They bought some other one time big players, but it didn't work out so good.

Now they no longer exist as they themselves were taken over.

And as I said the area nearby has some major movie connections.

Well done Jaden.
Just in before donegal and the awoken Fred.

Novell were huge in their day.

The were the leading network system providers for PCs with their Novell Netware product.
Microsoft/IBM had Lan Manager and there was also Banyan Vines.

Of course Novell went off and bought Wordperfect and Quattro Pro which at the time were not moving across to Windows very well.
Then Microsoft brought out Windows NT and it was beginning of the end.
Netware NDS was way ahead of NT and was absolutely brilliant for multi-site multinational setups.

They also owned the rights to UNIX at one stage.

BTW the movies nearby connection is reference to Robert Redfords Sundance Resort and the Sundance Film Festival.

Movies like Jeremiah Johston and Footloose were also filmed near Provo.
