    I am looking in Wales because it looks right and your clue suggested (in my imagination) north of Wellington (there's a Wellington in Somerset). So far no luck.

    It does not look like a very large place somehow. Five thousand souls max.

    (oh I see an answer, sounds like I read the wrong things into that clue -- goes off to find Glenavy).

    Somewhere in south eastern Europe - Romania? Main clue for me is the fact that the place has a trolleybus system. Also looks like the town was formerly at least far more busy with the train station now boarded up.

    Wow, so googling took me Chernivtsi in Ukraine cos it had two stations but it wasn't the place.

    Then I zoomed out and looked around the border areas of a few countries. It's getting late so I said I'd just check one last one and hope for the best.
