Wrigley Field, Chicago (home of the Cubs).

View is looking south on the east side of the stadium.

It seems we're not allowed to eliminate whole countries, but no, it's not in Hungary.

Ok, I'll give a clue seeing as its up a day and a half.

In the background is a graveyard where an Irishman was buried who has been mentioned in songs written by both The Pogues and Christy Moore.

OK just to confirm it was actually song written by Christy Moore and not just one he recorded ?
    BTW you said WAS ?
Are they now buried somewhere else ?

    France ?

Yes, written by Christy. If you have a good knowledge of 20th century Irish and European history then you've probably heard of the person in question.

    Not in France.

    Is it Dresden ?
    Dresden - Loschwitz Bridge

Frank Ryan WAS buried there and is mentioned in songs by both Pogues and Christy Moore

    Snakey boyyyy with the WAS.

I had thought it was Spain what with the whole International Brigade and Spanish civil war connection.
And of course one the names there was Frnak Ryan.

Well done, subtle clue with "was" is right.

The bridge is the Blaues Wunder (Blue Wonder), has an interesting history itself. The Germans tried to blow it up at the end of WW2 but the locals sabotaged the explosives, realising that the war was lost anyway and that it would only do long term damage. The US, British, Germans and Russians all tried to destroy it at some stage during the war. None of them succeeded. It also survived the floods of 2002 without any damage where a lot of newer bridges were badly damaged or totally destroyed.

BTW The Pogues song is "The sick bed of Cu Chulainn, Christy Moore's is "Viva La Quinte Brigade".
