    you got it.

how do i strip out usefull info from the pic ?

Best thing to do is download your image to your computer, and upload it to the likes of imgur or similar. If you direct link from a page that provides information on the location, then it's no challenge for those trying to guess. In this case the photo is actually called train graveyard.jpg which is a bit of a giveaway :) Uploading the pic to imgur (a) breaks the connection between the pic and the host website, and (b) renames the file to a random name - wC3q1Obv.jpg for example.

Additionally, it's better to take a google street view snap if you can, rather than using an image from online. With google image search, it's too easy to drop a photo into it, and get a match to other websites that have used the same photo.

You could get a screenshot of the location (ctrl+prtSc), crop in MS Paint and then re-upload it.

    For adding photos, I:
    - press the print screen key
    - paste into a paint program I have (called GIMP)
    - use the crop tool to make it a good fit
    - use the paintbrush tool to wipe away some info
    - save it as a jpg file
    - upload it to a post on boards using the attachments feature
    - do a preview on the post to get a link to the photo
    - add it as a photo to the post between IMG tags (press the photo button)

That is Banff, Canada.... you left in a big clue - want to go again?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,538 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Hm. Where's the big clue? I didn't think there was anything hugely obvious!

I'll post another one if you tell me where I made a mess of this one. :)
