I think Leinster have missed a trick not using Cian Kelleher in a training session match like this.

Too many players in Ireland contention needing gametime. I don't think that type of selection is MOC's style anyway. He'll bring them through when he sees them capable of contributing to the first team in a regular basis.

We have to go to Ospreys next weekend (and we got beaten by Dragons last weekend); I would much rather see this game used for getting as many senior players back up at full steam as possible, dropping Luke, McFadden or Kirchner for an Academy guy wouldn't be a good use of resources IMO.

    Is Leavy any good?

Have a look at the thread Leinster v Dragons:D

Very good. If he stays injury free it shouldn't take him long to overtake Dominic Ryan.

I think you're missing the reference to the Dragons match thread (and the obvious attempt to reverse-troll the mocker Gods...)

Well I fancy the randomers this week anyhow.

Although I expect they'll make hard work of it

    Is Leavy any good?

Probably the highest rated back row prospect in Leinster since the emergence of SOB. He has had a rough time with injuries which has held him back. Any game time that has gone to Josh van der Flier this season would have probably gone to Leavy if he was available.

He's still only 20 but 6'3" and 16 stone so has room to put on another stone in the weights room but is already very dynamic around the field and makes an impact at the breakdown.

He went to the 2013 JWC and had a really good tournament. Came off 2nd best to Savea when we played NZ but still managed to have a pretty strong game and was a year young also.

Missed most of last season with injury when he was tipped to be the star of the show. He was named captain of the team but only played in the first few 6N games before missing the remaining 2 and the JWC through injury.

A lot of hype but that counts for little at this level. Hopefully he manages to put in a few solid showings without copping any more injuries.

I think Zebre might get a bit of a back lash, or I hope they do, I would expect a 4 try bonus by half time

4 try bonus by 50 minutes and then Marsh to come on would be nice?

    Is anybody else watching this?

Jimmy really should've got that kick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Such a harsh penalty there, he was clearly on his feet

Yeah really was a poor miss. Darce putting in a few big tackles in the first 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Darce playing like a man possessed... Extra flanker

Why? It was 5m in from the touch? Hardly a straight kick?

    Beautiful catch by Ferg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

    Nice kick, nice catch.

McCarthy and Douglas are putting some serious hits in

    So utterly predictable.

No attempt to use the arms there surely... haven't seen that before ... tackle a buy behind you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

That was a terrible kick by McFadden.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 26,403 Mod ✭✭✭✭Peregrine

    Ah, jaysis..

Time to add Zebre to the list of teams who are more clinical than us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    Nice try be Zebre.

What was the spread before the game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

Aaron Dundon; third choice hooker, future scrum half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Well, that was one in of the most obvious do not kick situations. Awful decision from ferg.

    Well holy God.
What is this coach up to ?

McCarthy looked in serious need of oxygen running back there.

Another pathetic display so far by Leinster beyond bad!

Leinster have been dominant so far, that try was completely against the run of play. Kick coverage was absolutely brutal though, terrible stuff.

Did they ever explain why they're called Zebre? It's an odd animal to pick for an Italian team

Terrible kick but he'd no option, wall of defenders in front of him and no support.

    No, no, no, Luke!

Quality hospital pass there to Fitz.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,138 ✭✭✭SaveOurLyric

    Enough is enough.

Can we organise a full walkout by the crowd at half time. Let them play the second half in front of an empty stadium.

I dont have a twitter machine myself but guess that could spread the word. Have we a volunteer to get it started ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,817 ✭✭✭corny

    Fitz absolutely nailed by Bergamasco.

Maybe risk of penalty but there was a massive overlap. You need to look up before you kick.

In fairness, being dominant for 25 minutes is fairly useless if it's resulted in zero points.

Ah jaysus... you have to support the team that are on the pitch, you're still probably going to win, it's only 5 points.

    Leinster aren't playing THAT bad.

I think they'll still get the bp win, esp in the last 20 mins.
It just hasn't clicked in the red zone yet

Take the 3 points ! It might be all you get !
    FFS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

Ridiculousness of the idea aside, it would be pretty funny for them to walk back out to the seven Zebre fans that are present

It's not useless because you're forcing the opposition to defend for 25 minutes, but it's not great, no.

    Knock on there, I thought.
