    Hi friends...
Legendary chef Marco Pierre White will be among Ryan Tubridy's guests on The Late Late Show on RTÉ One on Friday at 9:35pm.

Another guest on Friday's show will be TD Paul Murphy.

Host Tubridy and the Late Late team will also be celebrating Chris de Burgh's 40-year career in music.

^ I'm curious to see how many people dont get that dog-association.. :-) ..

Oh, and the interview with De Burgh may also be a case of

Also, on tonight's show somebody saying that they will "get up on their missus", a tragic game of blind date, and guests shifting people from the audience...

    meh, we can only hope..

    Urgh. Indeed, Chris De B-urgh.

The misery slot to end all misery slots.

Hey, that's weird. Couple of weeks ago, we had that fella off Masterchef who knew Marco Pierre White. Now we have the legend himself. Yep. Legend.

Hey, who's that sitting just to my left? Why it's Ol' Donie! Wow, that must mean I'm literally beside myself with excitement.

Is there anything to be said for another mass everybody watching last week's Show on the RTE Player at the same time as a Group Therapy / chance for those who missed the thread to have their say?

I'm still not sure that it wasn't a very strange dream.

Edit: Or maybe it's better to have a relatively normal week for once, next Friday is the LLS Eurosong Special and that has been known to be as mad as a bag of cats.

Paul McGrath is in with Ray D'arcy at the moment. Lets hope he nips over to the RTÉ canteen afterwards where the LLS team hang out.

With a bit of luck they might nab him to ensure having a decent guest on tonight. Perhaps Ryan could ask him some exceptional insightful questions about his future plans.

To balance out the usual questions about his past that he's answered a million times before, (The last half hour with D'Arcy being no exception.)

    Two hopes.

Thought I'd get a post in early because they way things are going lately, I'll probably have another months ban before the show starts tonight. ;)

    .

He went down considerably in my estimation when he started to promote the stock cubes. One of the basics of cooking is learning to make stuff like stock.

It's very hard to take him seriously after seeing those ads.

    Excellent OP, County! :)

Kitteh has been in hiding since last Friday - truly gruesome sights (but enough about Dickie Rock).

So...more horrors tonight in the form of Mr. De Burgh!

I'll resist the urge to say 'Don't Pay The FURRYman'...whoops :pac:

    Everything's delayed because of Eastenders.

Aww, I want to get to ranting about TV chefs.

Awwww, now I want to rant about TV soaps.

    Patience, Donie. Patience.

Maybe they could spike the Green room drinks with acid or something to spice up this weeks rather moribund looking offering.

I'm only watching last weeks car crash!

Don't hold out much hope that tonight could possibly beat it. So I'll finish last weeks and then slip quietly away!

No sign of wraps of coke getting horsed out of it in the audience this week, yet anyway. Shame.

    Good Evening All!

I like MPW but I've never forgiven him for doing the Knorr stock cube advert after preaching for years about the importance of making stock from scratch.

I've read White Heat, it's a very good book, MPW is brutally honest.

He looks like Mick Wallace about twenty years ago, if he'd been a poet..

    Ah, I remember that.

He looked rather non plussed, and disappointed that Chris DeBurgh was going to upstage him.

He has very mellow voice in this interview. Different story when he is in the kitchen shouting expletives at all in sundry!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,739 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

I heard recently that the reason there are so many TV chefs - a question I'm sure we've all asked at some point - is to stop people who are already watching telly while they are flicking.
Because people stop if they see something tasty.

They are aimed at people who are going to be watching telly already! Even the people that make them know they are not worth stopping doing something else for.

And they're not celebrities. For Christ sake.

So you bullied your kitchen staff.. Yeah, that's certainly something to be commended...

Though I did use his oxo cubes once... Cooked it up with some McCain Oven Chips, nice bit of Donegal Catch... I think I'm actually a five star chef myself..
