Sole trader Buying a Van

I'm a sole trader, builder, not VAT registered.
I recently started a PAYE employment but still trade myself part-time.
I need to purchase a new or second hand van.
This will be used for both PAYE and self-employed use.
Can I claim this as a business expense?
Does it matter if it is paid outright or financed through a loan?
I’m a bit of a novice at this. I already owned my first van when I became self-employed so never claimed for it other than for diesel and maintenance, etc.
I usually just submit my Form 11 myself online.

    Any advice would be appreciated
