Sorry if Im in the wrong forum. For months Ive had a buildup of mucous in my throat, and recently I feel pressure / discomfort in various points in my throat (swollen nodes apparently). I have no other symptoms.

Ive been to the doctor a few times with no luck so far. First I was checked for allergies, all clear. Then I was given medicine for a throat infection and gastro oesophigal reflux disease, again no difference. My doctor has referred me to a specialist to get "scoped", so its all in hand.

However my partner is the ultimate worrier, and is afraid it could be throat cancer. I had a full medical in October and the doctor said Im healthy as I could be. Long story short, my question is whether if it was the worst case scenario, would there have been symptoms visible in the blood tests?

There are markers that would indicate the necessity for further tests if they've done a full blood count. White blood cells, for example.

I would imagine there's nothing to worry about especially in the absence of other symptoms.

Sorry, but medical advice is not allowed on the forum. Please consult with your doctor.
