    Hi people,

Towards end of last year I started piling on weight just got myself into a bit of a rut as I'm a stay at home dad and work from home and gave up on training I was doing kickboxing and going gym I just got lazy and one thing lead to another ended up going from 13 stone up to 17 stone in space of a year :( anyway it hit me at xmass time when my soon to be wife bought me a lovely outfit as a present but it wouldn't fit so had to do something.

Start of new years I gave up the few drinks I used to have at home on Saturday night and gave up bread and potato and takeaways apart from Saturday night we still relax and have a Chinese watch some tv, also I doing my kickboxing 2 nights a week and in the gym at least twice a week and running again its been going great so far I'm down to just over 15 stone I'm going out tonight with my partner for valentines and wearing my new outfit from Christmas cant wait.

Anyway never really talked about it much before but maybe if someone else needs help or make them realise that the hardest part of getting into shape is just making the start it gets easier after first couple weeks its more of a routine again I've a long way to go still I want to get down to 13 again for my wedding in July which I'm more confident of now.

Good post and just in time, I'm about to start my workout tomorrow. I need to lose at least three stones (18 > 15) to get my health back. Cheers and I hope I'll be posting here soon :)

Your pretty similar to me then too the biggest thing is the start after that it starts getting easier. When you start to fit into smaller clothes its the best feeling in the world.
Running is a great way to get healthy too a few year ago I couldn't run at all I started off slowly like running a bit and walking a bit and just build it up from there. If you in the country a great one is to run between the distance of two telegraph poles and walk the next one or if in the gym run for a minute on threadmil and then walk for a min.
I lost my fitness over last year so I'm building up again I did a decent 3k run last week in just over 17 minutes so my next goal is to get a 5k done in under 30 mins and go from there.
If you ever want to drop a pm or anything feel free mate best of luck.
