    If only the NCT had a system where a paper disc could be placed on your car windscreen indicating when the NCT was due, it would be even better if you could bring your car for it's NCT 3 months earlier than its due date.

    There are non-workshops do tests only in the UK, so they have no incentive to fail for work-creation. Local authorities also have testing centres you can take your car or van to, if you so desire.
