Struggling with pull ups.

    Hey, I have always struggled with pull ups and im just looking for some advice. Im 6'7 and 107kg which may be half the problem as other tall people I know also struggle. but I have really being trying to better my pull ups. I do sets to failure which is very little tbh and compliment these with letting myself down slowly from the top positions. Obviously it will take time and I aware of that but Im just hoping someone can give me advice on what else I can do to help. Im in good shape and all my compound lifts are decent for someone gyming for just over a year.

    Saw this on T-Nation the other day...gives a couple of different programmes aimed at those of varying levels of struggle when it comes to pull ups.

    Might be worth a gawk.

    Thanks Alf, pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I usually do those exercises on back day but I can change it a little to focus more on the pull up.

    Different movement for different purpose.

    Edit: I don't see mention of kipping though.

    I see now.

    The way I read it was that it was given as a step in a progression to build to a pull up, in the same way band-assisted pull ups or negatives would be

    Resistance bands are good to use also try the grease the groove method never go to failure.
