Hi all, looking for some advice/help

We want to rear 2 or 3 pigs for our own meat. Living in Louth
Have housing/fencing and other stuff sorted

Just wondering where to get the weaners from. Done deal? Suggestions nearby?
Anyone nearby rearing pigs that maybe let us have look at their setup?
Anyone know of or using an abattoir for their pigs in this area?

    All help greatly appreciated

Have you a pig herd number yet? When I got mine they sent me a list of abattoirs or search here
    https://www.fsai.ie/food_businesses/approved_food_establishments.html

I just get mine from done deal, just have a look at a few places.

The Meat isn't cheaper, but is far tastier

    We buy from DoneDeal.

Above advice on herd number is good, definitely no bother with the inspection.

If you have a herd number you only buy from a supplier with a herd number, you can choose from any number of certified abbatoires.

If you have no herd number you could run into trouble getting the pigs killed, it can be done without the herd numbers but lads charge more, so having the free herd number saves you.

Last pigs we got killed was €25, I heard that unregistered places charge €40+
