    FA Cup Replay
A tough night ahead for Liverpool in their replay against a well organized Bolton and will probably be best viewed from behind the sofa.

Bolton midfielder Darren Pratley will miss Wednesday's FA Cup replay against Liverpool with a torn hamstring. Strikers Craig Davies and Emile Heskey are battling hamstring problems, while goalkeeper Adam Bogdan (ankle) is out.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is fit to make his 700th club appearance after being rested against West Ham at the weekend because of a tight hamstring.
Daniel Sturridge, injured for five months before scoring in Saturday's 2-0 win, is likely to be on the bench.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated he will make several changes for the FA Cup trip to Bolton to keep his team fresh for a busy February.
Wednesday's fourth-round replay is the first of a minimum of five matches in 23 days for Rodgers' side - and that tally will rise to six if they win at the Macron Stadium and secure an fifth-round tie at Crystal Palace. Liverpool visit Merseyside rivals Everton on Saturday, and there are further Premier League matches against Tottenham and Southampton, as well as a two-legged Europa League round-of-32 tie against Turkish side Besiktas.

    Team is er....dunno! :pac:

    Bolton team news
Bolton's squad is depleted by injuries for their FA Cup fourth-round replay against Liverpool at the Macron Stadium on Wednesday.

Craig Davies is the only one of Bolton's injured players who has a chance of featuring, with Darren Pratley's hamstring tear seeing him join the likes of Adam Bogdan, Emile Heskey, Marc Tierney, Mark Davies and Max Clayton on the sidelines.

Only players registered prior to the original tie are eligible so Trotters boss Neil Lennon is unable to call on new signings Ben Amos, Adam Le Fondre, Rochinha, Barry Bannan, Simeon Slavchev, Filip Twardzik or Saidy Janko.

    Nope, out on loan.

    Nope, out on loan.

    I didn't know that.

I see he's at Blackburn now, I'd say he would've loved another chance at playing against Liverpool.

Coincidentally I watched about 10 minutes of that god-awful 80s film Mac and me at the weekend, and realised that the aliens are the spit of jay spearing -

4 senior strikers at the club, 3 of which are sat on the bench and the other hasent even made the match day squad.

Lucas not even on the bench?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 526 ✭✭✭ManOnFire

again the bench is a bit unbalanced, no need for 3 strikers. I know Lovren has been ****e but you need a centre half on the bench and he should be able to cope with Bolton!

Lucas has started every game lately so is probably in need of a rest.

No point starting Lucas. We've a great record this season without him...

Johnson seems to be favoured for the CB position over Loveren.

    Lucas has a slight strain

Having three strikers on the bench is a wasted opportunity, could give a young player the experience of being in a matchday squad. What scenario could possibly need three strikers to come off the bench?

    Extra time and penos?

I was pretty confident wed get the job done tonight, but seeing us start without lucas or henderson has me concerned. Allen and gerrard strikes me as a two man midfield that could be easily outfought and overrun

    Extra time and penos?

If that's the case then I'd much rather see Mario on the bench than Borini. Unreal penalty taker

    Extra time and penos?

Two would be plenty enough , 1 up front with 3 strikers on bench and 3 at back with nothing on bench just strikes me as unbalanced

Decent team, presumably Allen will be more defensive than Gerrard. Back 3 is the strongest possible, the two WBs are nothing less than capable.

No complaints with Lallana, Coutinho & Sterling.

I'd expect there to be a few frees close to the Bolton area so Gerrard might mark the occasion with a lovely one :D

Should bear Bolton in 90 mins, not overly confident of a clean sheet though :)

Lucas be 100% for the derby all going well, Sturridge might get 30 mins again tonight, mightn't see him until the 70min mark though if it's a draw by than due to the potential for ET.

I'm confident enough we'll win tonight. By a couple of goals I'll go for.

Bolton playing a centre half up front. You'd think we had troubles against physical players or something? I know nothing about said centre half but I assume he isn't being played there for his silky ground game.

Sakho having a mare, he looked so awkward on the ball with that wayward pass. Get him off.

When Phil Neville co commentates, he sounds so conspiratorial. It's like he's giving a final pep talk just before we go into rob a bank.

Is there any 2nd commentator on the air that people on Boards actually like?

Phil Neville, Michael Owen, Ray Wilkins,Niall Quinn, Gary Neville, Mark Lawrenson always get heavily criticised.

    Danny Murphy maybe?

9 minutes in, Joe Allen caught in possession 3 times already
