So after our fun start to the year in The Heritage it's now down to business, and we couldn't get a finer place to kick off the "Race to the Jug" than our inaugural Links outing at Portmarnock Links. Many thanks go out to Golfgraffix for organising this one for us.

    3.jpg

So yes it's normal service resumed and with all important GOTY points on offer, it should be a busy one, so make sure you book in early. Availability on this one might be tight guys, so first preference will be given to paid up members & those who attended last Saturday and regulars from last season. We will however do our level best to make sure everyone who wants to play will get their game. No shows will be noted and are really not appreciated. Teamer messages will go out shortly

This is going to be mighty :D

As long as I'm not playing in the Winter league semi-finals, I'll be there ;)

If i am playing in the winter league semis, I might still be there, but I could have to burn quite a few brownie points to make it happen, lol

Charlie, I will need a lift, no matter what the outcome :D

28 spots is the limit (well 27, I am playing) so I would say get your names down early. I think it is 7 groups starting at 10:06

For those of you who have not seen the course before, there are some digital flythroughs here.

    They haven't been sent yet.

They will be going out to regulars first and at some stage after that it will open up to the remainder.

It will be on a first come first served basis, but it's just this event we are restricted on numbers as it's a busy course so there is no room for manoeuvre, so we are trying to be as fair as possible.

Edit.... download the teamer app for the best chance to get notified as quick as possible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,892 ✭✭✭Macker1

Definitely going to this and will be bringing along a new player to join the society as already mentioned in the society thread. Hopefully this won't be an issue due to the numbers scenario.

Time to dust off the cobwebs.............

Not invited when I checked on Teamer. ?? Reading above post it will be the weekend before invite goes out ???

Good chance all the spots will be gone before then.

I know, and I've a 100% win record this year on boards outing so far !

It happened last year as well, alot of the outings clashed,

I'll run for secetary of my local society next year so I can control the dates and make sure they're different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,317 ✭✭✭Dublin Spur

    I'll be there - if there's room :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Anatom

I won't be ready I'd say, still hobbling. Pity, as I really love that course...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,851 ✭✭✭spacecoyote

Jaysus there'll be itchy fingers on teamer this weekend!

I would really love to get to this one. Have never played the course & it looks superb.

Left my GOTY push too late last year, hoping to start 2015 like I finished 2014 (but not really expecting it, as I'm not a links pro like some of you lot on here)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,733 ✭✭✭dan_ep82

Really hope theres a late space and I can go, one of the ones I was really looking forward too

I got the permission slip and all!

But I dont think I'll be able to make it. Other logistical issues are in play.

I won't be at Naas either as I'll be on a Stag, so looking like Tullamore for my next one :)

I'll be going to this one.

I'd say Golfgraffix has it in bag if going.

Again - lads will post something next week, playing a few beers at this one.

Any the cork gang staying up nigh before ?

Not a Cork lad but will try and get up early myself for a tune up around Corballis. I think we might be able to get a mini boards outing for the Friday.

If I don't make it up in time for a round of golf, should be able to make if for a round of a different nature though ;)

Lads, bit of forward thinking that may save a few headaches.

There are 2 four balls on golfnow for 9:48 and 10:56... They're €55 a head but I certainly wouldn't mind chipping in an extra few to cover the difference and I would say most wouldn't mind. Not sure...but it's prob only €3 extra for each of us.

Good idea to just book them as I think at least 8 more will play?

Think there would be 1 tee in between the 9:48 and our first slot. I'm sure whoever has booked that won't mind getting out ahead of a society 4 ball.

Yes - they may even give a reduction later ?

    PM seve Par.

    PM seve Par.

It's golfnow... I don't think they operate like that but there's basically 8 slots either side of the society up for grabs.

I was at 14 outings over last 2 years , and didn't get initial invite, so yes.

Harder to get into than real Ryder Cup. :D
Seve - legend Captain - keep them on their toes - sure to win jug.

    A Links Lads - A links ;):D

Joking - but wasn't at fist outing - so fair enough.

Would be a good idea Parlance. I'd definitely travel but don't think I'll be in the first 28. But of a weird one giving preference for Portmarnock Links to the lads who attended the first outing after the event , no?

Winner pair nearly gone Tiger - love this captain - me and you the Tiger and Paddy - from winners to struggling for an invite.

Keep them on their toes Seve, you have inspired me.

At least - I'm a pain in the hole what did you do Tiger. :P

Class paulo - we will get a gang out in Corballis and a few pints in Malahide that night.
I'd say there are 4 or 5 from Northside that should make it. A weekend of links and pints. We all know know this may impact on points.

Paulo - you staying near Malahide ?

Sunset is 1745 the friday - we will target around 1300 to 1400 hrs. That will give all the chance to travel that day.
