Tinted Moisturiser

I'm looking for suggestions for a good quality, good coverage tinted moisturiser.

I don't like to wear foundation every day as it tends to dry out my skin after a week's application. I've been using various tinted moisturisers for years (Garnier, No. 7, Nars, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, Estee Lauder) Nivea bla bla bla) but none of them give good, long-lasting coverage. I'm at my wits end at this stage.

I use YSL Fusion Ink B40 foundation so that's the shade of tint I'd be looking for. If anyone could help at all I'd really appreciate it.

    Thank you,
    p

I've used this one by Bobbi Brown and it gives a nice medium coverage that has a semi-matte finish.

It lasts for a long time too (a full day on my oil-combination) skin.

Its pretty pricey but a little goes a long way, unless you add layer after layer for full coverage.

thanks a million. i'll pop to a Bobbi Brown counter at lunch for some advice, and maybe a sample to try.

I use Liz Earle Sheer Skin tint and I find it excellent. I actually don't wear foundation, at all I just wear this. Going out at night I just lightly brush over some Body shop bronzer and away I go.

Got a nice comment in work about how my skin was looking very dewy, so it must work well.

The trouble, I find, with buying online is that it looks great on the web but when it arrives it's not suitable at all.

I try to buy stuff that I can get a tester of and go home and try it. Last time I did this was with Bare Minerals tinted moisturiser about 2 weeks ago and my face blew up!

Liz Earle has a stand at Boots Liffey Valley.

Can't recommend bourjois CC cream enough.

Have the Lancôme Hydra Zen tinted moisturiser. I got my makeup done for a wedding during the summer and she used this, ended up buying it myself. It's very lightweight and works well for my dry sensitive skin.

Thanks. I don't like BB creams or CC creams - as, to me, they're only a base and don't last on my skin.

I thought that too until I tried this one.

Might be worth checking out some reviews.

It works and lasts for me and I'm quite oily skinned :)

If you're intending to spend a bit more on a foundation/tinted moisturiser make sure to bring a little pot with you to re counter and ask for a sample. I find sales assistants are more than happy to give them and it saves you making an expensive buy that doesn't work for you :)

I always ask for samples - especially in this transition period where I can't find anything that is hitting the mark.

My skin is normal. I'm pale-ish with freckles. I want something with a warm tone.

I've got a consultation at the Bobbi Brown counter later on. Eek! I'm so crap at these things!!

Are these purchased on-line or is there a counter I can call to in the City Centre?

I use Kiehls BB cream. It's absolutely fanstatic stuff altogether. I couldn't recommend it enough. My skin is so much better off for it and it gives flawless coverage without changing your actual skin.

o.k. so the consultation at Bobbi Brown went well.

I've since discovered that Tinted Moisturiser isn't really what I'm after at all! She tried a couple of shades and it didn't cover anything. So, after some feedback she recommended the moisture rich foundation! It's given me a lovely, lightweight, dewy finish which is exactly what I wanted.

She left it on me today. I'll see what it's like by end of day and probably go buy a bottle (e40) tomorrow, if it's lasted the distance.

At least I have a better idea of the kind of coverage I'm requiring!
