    Valentine's day
While some people are going on about how they're going away for Valentine's day and how great their other halves are, the rest will be feeling sorry for them as they should be treated so the rest of the year round.

How Valentine's days is just a stupid Hallmark holiday.

And then you have the same sad people trying to convince everyone their much happier being single.

    Pancake Tuesday
What pancakes toppings are you having? How many pancakes have you eaten today?...

There'll be a few hypochondriacs who've convinced themselves their wheat and gluten intolerant so they'll chip in with a healthier option here and in the Nutrition forum.

    Lent
What will you give up for lent? Smoking, booze, chocolate etc. Always the same.

    St. Patrick's day
Which parade will you be going to? Where are you going drinking? "I can't wait to have a shamrock milkshake" and "Green Guinness lol".

Of course there'll be the usual it's ridiculous how much people drink on this day - nation of p1ssheads etc. Reports on fights among the usual subsection of humanoids. "God what must the tourists think of us!"

Oh yeah, and gays in the parades! "What about the kids!?"

    Easter
Easter eggs. Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Wouldn't people be better off without religion (again)? The annoying atheists making the same 'jokes' they've been making for years.

Good Friday. You'll have some people being all indignant and feeling persecuted by Catholicism. Yawn.

There'll be others whining about the whiners -
"can't you go one day without being to the pub"!
    "That's not the point!" etc....

"Then go an lobby your local constituents!" Of course the same people whinging will have done nothing the last few years, but they'll be out in force to moan on boards.

    Summer
Crowded beaches, teenager's drinking in public, fights, Howth, Portmarnock, Dollymount, Gardai doing nothing, youth of today, "it's too hot!", heatwaves, hottest summer since 1914 or something, kids' summer holidays, teacher's holidays - which will lead to more teacher threads, "where are you going on you holidays?", boastful 'Walter Mitty' posts about where folk are going, holidays in Ireland vs holidays abroad, summer music festivals, Electric Picnic, too many skangers...

    Halloween
Excuse for girls to dress as slutty as possible, 'hilarious' homemade costumes, "Will you be answering the door?" Fruit or sweets? Fireworks - should be legal/better enforcement on current laws, scumbags at Halloween, favourite scary movies, what to dress up as? Controversial costumes - from Jesus and Mohammed to Nazi's and 'black face'.

    November time
Too early for Christmas decorations, "My neighbour has their decorations up already".

    Christmas
What are you getting? "It's wrong to lie to kids and pretend there's a Santa!"
"It's a religious holiday! Why are you celebrating it you heathen!?"
Real or artificial tree this year (?) and the merits on each, your favourite ever Christmas present, Christmas abroad, shops packed, people getting into debt over Christmas, kids get too much, favourite Christmas movies...

And in between there'll inevitably be even more threads on:
    TV licence/broadcasting charge
    Vegetarians/vegans
    Movie/music piracy
    The occasional conspiracy theory
    Nauseating 'RIP threads'
    De Politicians and their wages
Some gay people will be offended at something like a cake shop and there'll be a huge thread on it.
    Irish in Australia
    Travellers
Are/is/why <insert stupid generalised question here that nobody can possibly answer unless a ridiculously extensive study is carried out>
Charity (and animals vs other charities)
    Fat people
Sexism - it's only sexism when it's a man etc.
    Feminism and feminazism

    TL;DR - AH is
    boring
    and
    repetitive
    . AH, "You're
    f*
    cking
    out
    !"

Do you think this thread is original or something?

If you do, you're sadly mistaken and part of the very clique you've just criticised.

And, the fact you wasted an inordinate amount of time constructing such a post, thinking about it, and wallowing from it, says more about you than anyone else.

    Ah right.

So the same things people talk about in real life year after year after year then.

And for the record, I will have one pancake with butter & maple syrup, one with lemon & sugar, and one with nutella and strawberries. I will not give up anything for lent. I would like a Ferrero rocher egg (the one with the nuts in the shell). I will be going away for a week on Valentines Day but not on a romantic holiday. I love summer. All of it. Love it. Summer is my favourite. It's not too hot. It's never too hot (see my R&R thread on this subject). I will likely not dress up for Halloween unless there's a party on somewhere that's worth going to. I will be voting yes for marriage equality and I will be urging others to do so. I will not be tarring any race or gender with any brush. I will not be a fat person. I will probably download a movie but not a car. I will give money to charity, homeless, children's, and for the first time, animals.

Right. I'm done for the year. Sound.

    Who added the spoilers?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Also...

    Poppy day..

I reckon the OP is just getting old and realising its same shjt year on year out...

Also noticing that the pop stars are younger than him and young peoples music is crap... which it is.

Here's one you left out: people starting threads in AH about how sh1t it is. Guess we can strike that off the list for the year.
