That's a mistake. The Rumble should always be the final match on this card. Its the main attraction of the whole PPV.

Gone are the days where we'd get an epic match to open with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 846 ✭✭✭MAJR

After being buried by the Old World Order, Acolytes Pensioner Agency and the Old Age Outlaws on RAW this week this better damn well be a squash match or the Ascension can pretty much kiss their careers goodbye.

Title match on last surely means some shenanigans are going down right?

Is it me or is The Ascension basically an updated version of Legion Of Doom?
Black and red colour scheme with facepaint. Screams L.O.D. :P

    *edit*
commentary mentioned the reference. Guess they are being open about it :pac:

Lesnar probably would have had to be paid more to come out and have a stare down with the rumble winner...now the rumble winner can come out and have a stare down with him.

Opens up the possibility of the Rumble winner getting involved

    The Ascension are tiny.

There is no way you can make them a monster tag team.

I'm guessing they don't want an ending of Reigns pointing at the Wrestlemania sign with deafening boos in the background.

Means Cena win so they don't have to clean up the confetti too quickly.

They made short work of that.

That's how things should be. Sure the New Age Outlaws can still go but they're fifteen years removed from their prime. If anything I would have made it even more one-sided.

These backstage segments should have no place on a PPV. They're supposed to have established the story on RAW and Smackdown without having to hammer home the point on the PPV as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,270 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Cena's probably won 90% of the handicap matches he's been in.

There's always been backstage segments at PPV's, they just used to feature Mean Gene.

Dear god! Do not let Brock Lesnar anywhere near Sting! Not after he legitimately injured the Undertaker last year. The last thing we need is for his sloppiness to rob us of Sting's first and possibly only match in a WWE ring.

And they used to be about more than just hammering home the storyline. They used to be about building the interest and excitement for the matches, making people care about them by interviewing the competitor and getting the wrestlers to say how much the match meant to them.

Clearly the Usos aren't exactly crucial to this match. The story's going to be all about the Miz and Mizdow's relationship. I expect them to break up tonight.

What are you talking about? Brock was being notably more careful than usual and had to carry the match after Taker got his concussion.

Undertaker fell backward landing on his head on the outside which likely caused the concussion. Lesnar wasn't particularly sloppy if you look back at it.

Glad they're getting the undercard dross out of the way quick. Rumble match at 2am hopefully.

    Brock is far from sloppy.
