You're probably gonna be very, very disappointed if you buy some now!
The findus ones havnt changed all that much tbh,the range of flavours is a lot small though. They still pretty much taste the same, i think people just develop different tastes as they age

You're lucky I didn't describe the mince ones.

Waffles are still good - but only the Birdseye ones. The Green Isle ones are rank.

Used to scrape all the filling out of the chicken curry ones and stuff them full of mild curry flavour super noodles! Good times!

I love After Hours affection for the Crispy Pancake, my heart lifts every time I see them mentioned every few months.

We had a love hate relationship with them in our house, depending on the filling and depending on whether they were burnt or not, which they always were.

If our mam left the dinner table to answer the phone or the likes, we used to jump up and sneak out the back door and fú*k them over the neighbour's wall.

I reckon there's a colony of radioactive organisms in their back garden now.

They are still available, I had some about two months ago maybe, mince and onion flavour, think they were Findus too, or Green Isle perhaps. Would have got them in my local Dunnes.

The crispy pancakes you see now are Green Isle, and they're not very nice. I liked the original Findus ones but haven't seen them in years. I'm not sure they even make them anymore.

When Superquin changed to Supervalue I had to use up the last of the vouchers.

The Green Isle cheese crispy pancake things are vile. Absolutely Vile. Normally with stuff like that you can fry it until it's just burnt crunchy bits but that didn't work.

Findus do lovely cripsy cheese pancakes , but you can't get them here.

During my student days, having crispy pancakes was like fine dining.

Bought some this evening because of this thread. Only had green Isle ones in supervalue and I got the beef and onion ones. Bland enough but mostly because there is so little filling the bit of filling that was there was nice enough.

Ah poor mans food when I was a mere lad and a drunks saviour when I grew up.

    WARNING!

Picture the scene. The year 2001. In the pub with a few mates getting rat arsed. One of the mates says the wife is visiting the mother so he suggests bringing a chinese back to his place after the session. Great idea. But when we stagger out of the pub, the chinese is closed. No sweat he says, Ive grub in the freezer, lets go. Back at his place, out come onion rings, wedges and the famous crispy pancake with mince and onion. Legend! Everything is ****ed into the deep fat fryer, which is kept in the garage because the wife doesn't "like" the smell of it. But **** it, we fried it all up and threw it out on plates, with a few cans. At this stage I'm ravenous. I mill a few wedges and onion rings. Then I focus on the crispy pancake and think of my poverty stricken youth and all those copycat versions from places like Dunnes Stores. This one is the real deal. The Celtic Tiger is staring to roar its ass off and Im about to revisted the legend that is the crispy pancake after a **** load of pints at all hours in the morning. It looks great. Its big. I lash the knife into it and then it happens. The contents spray up onto my face. Im scalded and running around the kitchen in agony. I was scarred for days.

You may remember the heat on the upper pallet of the mouth, but let me tell you, the heat on your face after it jumps up at you like something out of Alien, is an experience.

Never, ever, deep fry a crispy pancake. If you do, never, ever, cut into its bulging middle. It will literally ejaculate onto your face.
