You may have missed my earlier question which is this:

Why is it morally wrong for a pre-pubescent girl to have oral sex with a grown man, if both parties are consenting? No one in the yes can give a objectively valid answer to this, yet they demonize the no camp for not being able to give an objectively vaild answer as to why two members of the same sex shouldn't be allowed marry. It's a blatant contradiction. One woman said the issue had already been dealt with earlier in the thread, but didn't specify when or give the argument herself, the rest just hysterically dished out ad homs or gave fallacious arguments in responce.

I was a definite NO voter in this referendum for several reasons although I don't consider myself homophobic ........ after several debates with my wife (she's a Yes btw) and friends/family and reading stuff on here etc I was still a no, wasn't convinced by any of the arguments put forward for a yes .......... until today .......... I bumped into a childhood friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years and during conversation the referendum came up for some reason (I'd class him as being openly homophobic) and he said something that has stuck with me all day ........ "If one of my boys turns out to be gay I don't think I could forgive myself for denying him equal rights, I'm gonna vote yes" .......... I have children myself, I'll be voting yes.

Tell him to be in his life and be a supporting father (i.e. sporting, hiking, etc.) and this shouldn't happen. A referendum won't save his kids from being gay, raising them proper should be his focus.

Hahahaha. So the son I'm breastfeeding right now won't turn out gay if my husband brings him on hikes and plays sports with him? What about if I bring my daughter to ballet classes and music lessons? Will that be a gay vaccine for her?

There will need to be more than just activities that they are engaged in. Studies show there is a strong and direct correlation between childhood engagement within the nuclear family and Pedophilia among other sexual deviances.

Because no children are ever abused within a nuclear family by their parents, right? What does that have to do with marriage equality, exactly?

I was telling him that a referendum won't save his child from sexual deviance, but I am not sure what your first question is asking because it is unorganized/unclear.

However, you may like to take a look at this:
    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/breastfeeding-for-longer-linked-to-higher-iq-study-finds-1.2143866

Also, try to not be lazy with your children because it is a serious investment of time and energy in order for them to be successful in all aspects of life- personal, occupational, academically, socially, etc.

I won't take "advice" from someone who's mentioned paedophilia in thread on the right of gay people to marry.

You realize that link is based on studies right? And also not being a lazy mother is rather common sense, right?

Because if you don't take my "advice" (really common sense though which you should have already known to take care of your offspring naturally) your son will be dumber and lazier.

Comparisons of homosexuality and paedophilia stop here

    It's offensive, and it's trolling

Bans will be handed out if it continues

Did you miss that post lavdad?

If you are not in fact trolling and you genuinely cannot see any difference between consenting adults having sex and the sexual abuse of children then that is feckin scary!

But if I take your "advice" and my husband takes my son on hikes and to play sports he won't turn out gay?

No as I said before there has to be much more stimulation than that- apparently, you have been a lazygal. There is a strong and direct correlation between stimulation & engagement within the first two developmental stages and sexual deviance. So, to answer your question, no- there will be more required from you and your OH to raise successful children- I just hope you are prepared for this investment of time and energy for your son's sake.

What's sexual deviance? If my daughter is gay, is she sexually deviant? And how would my parenting affect her sexuality or that of my son?

Seriously? You should already know that as a parent you are the main affect on your children- or at least I hope you are involved enough to be. Therefore, the studies show that with more engagement and stimulation it leads to a less chance of sexual deviance. So yes as a parent you will affect the outcome of your children with respect to many aspects of life, and I sincerely hope you are involved enough to be and retract from your lazy ways. Hence the reason why I provided you with that study as a way to increase your offspring's IQ to offset any potential neglect from their parents.

Is being gay a sexual deviance?

Lol just lol. Plenty of kids go hiking and take part in sports and come out as gay.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Sexual reproduction is defined as the production of new living organisms by combining genetic information from two individuals of different types (sexes). Therefore, homosexuality deviates from this definition of sexual reproduction.

How are you guys responding calmly and politely to this ****? Maybe it's the nightshift, but I am on the verge of letting fly at these and not worrying about the consequence to my boards 'record'.

Those were just 2 examples- its not as if by doing those 2 things you can prevent your kids from being gay. LOL.

Which definitions are you working from?
Does this mean those who can't or won't have children should be prevented from marrying too? Why are some animals homosexual?

I won't be voting. I'm confident enough that the yes side will win, so I didn't register. I'm lazy like that. I kind of also think that the majority should never vote on something that only affects minority--certain when the issue is marriage. It should be up to gay people to vote if they want to get married and not straight people.

Regretfully that may mean that same-sex civil marriage would probably never be approved. Marriage, like a lot of other everyday things for the state now involves civil legal registration. It's not just a religious rite between couples.

Because marriage is a matter of civil law, it need's your input, as well as that of other straight people because if you're straight it may/will affect your future generations. It's a change going onto our biggest legal book, our constitution. The constitution is our Magna Carta. As a result, your vote IS needed by me and other lgbt citizens here.

I don't think that the referendum will just cruise over the finish line. The "No Same-sex Civil Marriage" voters also have family and friends they will persuade to vote alongside them.

Ah right. Sex is for reproduction only ay? Blowjobs, masterbation etc is 'sexual deviance' as well?

    The universal definition.

What animals are homosexuals? If an entire species was homosexual then how would they reproduce and continue to exist?

Lol. Will there be a homosexuality vaccine some day? Will my son turn out gay if I Mammy him too much or breastfeed him past 18 months? I let y daughter wear jeans once. Will that turn her lesbian?

What animals are homosexuals? I think at this point I would be more worried about your kid's education than anything else as it seems like they may be starting from behind the line if you know what I mean...

What's the "universal" definition? Plenty of animal species have homosexual animals in them. Being gay doesn't mean one can't reproduce either, any more than a man with a low sperm count or a woman with low AMH can't reproduce. They just need medical help.As I did when I had my children.

There should be an IQ test prior to first enrolling to register on the electoral role! Some people are just too ****ing stupid too be participating in decisions that affect the entire nation.
