Other half is looking for a treadmill , had a quick look around the net but not sure what makes a good treadmill. she doesn't want one that is crazy expensive. found this one http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/2329710/Trail/searchtext%3ETREADMILL.htm
Is it good value for 585 euro? is there anything better for less or the same money ?it will be the first bit of fitness equipment ever in the house !

    Try irishsportswarehouse.ie
Good range for all budgets. You'll get a very good quality treadmill for the price you mentioned. I bought a Powertech treadmill from them, no hassle with it so far. Generally you want to make sure the motor is 2 Horse Power or above if you're using it for running instead of walking.

Treadmill is generally a bad idea. Can get very boring after a while. I'd recommend using a "natural treadmill" ie the road or verge outsdie. Better exposure to fresh air, can meat new people and enjoy exercise :)

Find a sports field or park.
    Run around it
    €585 saved.
    better for your body too.

Yeah like others have said it really will just become an expensive coat hanger. For that amount of money she could join a gym where she can have access to a whole load of equipment and have money left over!! Even if gyms don't appeal to her, running outside even skipping would do the job of a 500 euro treadmill. Our weather won't stay like this for long (snow and ice) and the winter air is just something else to have through your lungs. She'd feel ten times more refreshed doing that then jogging on a treadmill for an hour. Even if it's in front of the tv I'm sure it gets boring. Save your money.

I agree that its a waste of money.
If your wife wants a "dreadmill" because she is at home with young kids and cant get out to run, then a few fitness DVDs is a better buy.

Also, I don't know how big your house is, but dreadmills are huge and you need some space around them.
