Is that the paint scheme do you think? Not sure I like the black, but is it to save weight of a paint job?

Strangely enough for something with "GT-R" in its name, not even its headlights resemble that of the road-going car of that name.

The cockpit of the Nissan seems very far back compared to the other three, or is that just my eyes playing tricks with me?

nope the Nissan is front engined hence the rearward cockpit

plenty of fairly reliable info on http://www.mulsannescorner.com/newsjan15.html

The Nissan does appear to be keeping the 'mouth' of the road going GTR but there appears to be a kind of nose sticking out aswell.

As for the 919, the black paint job would be far preferable to the livery from last year which was ok but far from inspiring.

Just came across this absolute gem on twitter, a video of

    http://vimeo.com/59410466
Mike Hawthorn(Lemans winner 1955) driving a preview lap on the Le mans track in a Jaguar.(1956!) with some traffic (bikes and cars going both directions)

Shows how simple it can happen.
Wayne Taylor Racing loses podium, points after time infraction
IMSA Pit Notes data indicates Jordan Taylor logged 4 hours and 19 minutes in the car between two separate stints. That doesn't include time time spent in the pits, which is not counted towards the rule.
Jordan Taylor .. was pulled out of the .. car with 11 minutes remaining in the race after the team had reportedly discovered its error.

It's a pity because with that last safety car we were set up for a cracking finished until they pulled Taylor in.

I know the rules are the rules, but was the team penalising themselves with the double stop, not enough really.. Probably would have been worse for them to find out after the race, assuming the didn't stop

When I hear the reference of F1 being the pinnacle of motor racing, I laugh.

Endurance racing really is getting some great machines out there now. And this is no exception. Amazing.

Speaking of front engined cars like the Nissan, I love the looks of this Panoz Esperante GTR-1:

There was a fairly big accident last night during practice, at least one of the cars written out of the race, there was also a car accident away from track which put a few drivers in hospital, so it's started with a bang.

They do seem to be running perhaps a few more laps under yellow than needed, making for some amusing tweets though:)
