New ad from Sport England to try and encourage women into sports and fitness - seems to be getting quite the reaction in female-majority fitness communities online. (Just don't read the Youtube comments if you value your sanity) Wondering what ye all thought?

For me - I like the general sentiment, it's pretty good to see a wide variety of women of differing ages, body types and ethnicities being active, it's a bit of a change from the usual 20 year old size 6 white woman that seems to be featured in a lot of fitness marketing.

As a large lady, I like it, and it did make me think i must start exercising, while on the couch watching tv and eating a cupcake.

I'm not sure if I think its about time women of all ages and sizes were included or its its a bit patronising in an "aren't you great" kind of way.

I always like to see people of all shapes, sizes and sexes doing sport, it makes it a lot easier to take that first step. I recently lost a fairly big amount of weight and I know at the start I was afraid to go and exercise in public for fear of comments from people driving by in cars. Seeing older people, people bigger than me, running at all sorts of speeds really helped.

I don't think so. It's not overweight girls can too, it's any girl can.

I really like that. Like you said, it's nice to see an ad where it isn't all fitness models, which as amazing as they are, can make you go "Jesus, I couldn't do that!".

I like it a lot. I like the variety of sports shown too. All too often ads like that show just running or dancing as exercise and forget about team sports.

I don't think anything negative can be said about the add. But UK has one of the highest rates of obesity among women in EU so when studying measures to promote healthier living other countries could probably offer better guidelines.

In my case it is not that hard to encourage me to do something but to keep doing it after three months, 6 months or whatever.

Personally I found it a bit paonizing tbh. And very long. But it's not aimed at me so if it helps some women to feel confident then it's only a good thing.

I like it. It's positive, encouraging, uplifting - what's not to like?

I also enjoyed it and the sentiment behind it. Made me feel a bit better about my jiggly bits bouncing around in public :)
