Itd be much appreciated if someone could break down in a basic way the difference's between html attributes and semantic markup cuz I cant see to grasp whether they are totally different or similar things :)

Have you just done a google search for both terms? There's pretty clear definitions in the first couple of results for both

Okay so I get what an attribute is its just when I search for examples of semantic markup it just looks like normal code to me...can you give me an example just to clarify please?

Have you read the Wikipedia page on Semantic HTML? It's the first google result for semantic markup, and explains it pretty clearly e.g. "<i>" is presentational markup, "<em>" is semantic markup
