Word of warning - don't use any type of decent password. The website is massively insecure and even email you a plaintext copy of your password to your email address - sound bunch!

Took around 3 hours to get a confirmation from them last night when I registered

If you haven't got a confirmation just go to where you would login and ask for it to resend your activation code, still takes a few minutes but works.

Ed Sheeran in Whelans? That place is dangerously overcrowded for middle of the road acts only a few people have heard of. For this, it'll be hell on earth.

Its for a VHI show, limited to 400, will be grand..

Hes after selling out three days at Wembly (80k each day). I bet my left nut the surroundings of Whelans will be mental with teenybobbers without tickets.

Ah sure ye, but the venue itself will be grand.

just keep in mind, that filming could take up to 5 hours in addition to 2 hours of waiting to get in

For a once in a lifetime free gig? worth it.

It won't, there's 2 gigs on the day, a rehearsal and the recorded gig.

I've been to a few comedy gigs with The Applause store and it's gonna be 1 set, all recorded then edited after, warts and all, unless something catastrophic happens like a full power cut then it'll be done in 1 go

I wonder what's the chances of getting a ticket. Thanks op fingers crossed

If 1 person got a pair from this thread then we're doing well

800 tickets available for the 2 shows, that'll drop own to 500 when you take out corporate sponsors/record company/bands friends & family

Now you're down to 500, everyone who applied would have asked for 2 tickets so that's just 250 lucky people, probably in excess of 10k applied

Can you enter for both the rehersal and the live event or can you only enter the once? Don't want to risk messing anything up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,909 ✭✭✭greenman09

They said the 22.00 show will be over at 1.30

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 150 ✭✭_Jumper_

And they are issuing more than 400 Tickets to make up for no shows so even if you get a Ticket, once they hit 400 you ain't getting in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,971 ✭✭✭✭scudzilla

Applause Store will also have a reserve list on the night, you go and wait in a queue (you must have the email accepting you for the reserve list) and then will be admitted should people not turn up on time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 67 ✭✭The Gibmiester

MTV are also running an Instagram competition for 2 tickets.

I doubt it to be honest. It's a pretty small venue and I'd imagine health and safety will be all over this gig.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

If anybody's registered but hasn't received a confirmation link, just e-mail their customer support. I got a reply in twenty minutes saying they had activated my account for me :)

I registered a few days ago. we shall see

What? They issue more than 400 tickets but only allow the first 400 in. It is how it works for almost all of these shows. They have a reserve this time too.

So if you get an email to say you've a ticket, you still have to queue? I don't want to queue for 2 hours for something I've already got a ticket for? (I don't have a ticket, just registered like everyone else!)

You'll get an email saying you have to be in by say, 21:30.

There is NO messing about with that time, a minute late and you will not get in, your spot will go to someone on reserve list

Do you mind me asking how you know this? I don't mind waiting, as long as it's inside where there is beer & warmth :-)

I've been to quite a few events from the Applause Store, i'm sure the Sheeran gig will be run the same way

Has anyone heard if they've gotten the tickets yet or when will they let people know?

I imagine they'll only e-mail the recipients and everyone else will just have to presume they weren't picked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,877 ✭✭✭purplecow1977

They said you'd know 4 days before the gig, assume only those going will be notified.

When's the closing date to apply for tickets?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

    From the confirmation e-mail

If your ticket request is successful we will send you a unique eTicket link direct to your inbox at the latest 4 days PRIOR to your chosen date. If you have not heard from us by then, it means you have sadly not been successful on this occasion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,353 ✭✭✭ErinGoBrath

You'll know by 5pm tomorrow (Monday) if you've been successful
