Phone threat, someone didn't want to go in this morning :D

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/hundreds-of-employees-evacuated-from-irish-intel-plant-following-phone-threat-30902833.html
It is understood that a threat was phoned in to the company at approximately 6.30am and an evacuation subsequently ordered.

Gardai have confirmed to independent.ie that a "premises in Leixlip, Co Kildare, has been evacuated and gardai are at the scene. It is ongoing".

I remember an evacuation of a pharmaceutical plant due to one of my drivers breakinga fire alarm with a trolley accidently.. Thousands evacuated and a potentially huge bill for lost production.
Thankfully they didn't follow through with the bill.

when the 'instigator' is tracked down they will no doubt be granted FLA and their defence will be based on some piteous mental disorder.

Turns out the whole thing is due to the janitor having a smoke.

Apparently he was using white spirits to remove some paint when some spilt down his arm.

Without changing his clothes he lit up his cigarette, setting his whole left arm on fire.

A concerned employee called the gards, reporting an hysterical man on the premises with an arm alight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,267 ✭✭✭Elessar

What chips do they make there? Haswell? I could never find out for sure

A small explosion occurred in the car park, leaving an eight foot crater.

The gards are looking into it.

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it was always a hoax imo. Since when do ISIL do warnings about imminent attacks?

Bomb warnings went out with the RA

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/intel-bomb-threat-caller-claimed-to-be-from-isil-30902833.html
The caller who made a "bomb threat" to the Intel plant in Leixlip claimed to be from the Islamic extremist group ISIL, security sources have confirmed to Independent.ie

He claimed that 12 devices had been placed at various locations across the large complex in north Kildare, but the scene has since been cleared and employees have returned to work.

They managed to search the place pretty quickly!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,813 ✭✭✭chrysagon

Ah they will chip away for the day, as they process their thoughts into whats happened, the usual Modem operandum, the keys to a successful job, but im sure the bosses will monitor the situation!!

At the cost of millions? Unlikely!

Intel would not be an easy place to gain access to. I've worked there, there's 24 hour security, a gated security entrance and seperate gated security into all the Fabrication areas. I'm not saying placing devices around the building would be impossible but it wouldn't be easy and I couldn't see people getting into the plant areas, personally.

Apparently ISIS have taken responsibility, but ringing in a Bomb Threat reeks of the IRA.
