Any past/current Psychology students have any tips for a first year?

Specific to the modules, no.. its 4 years since I sat 1st Psychology.

I would say though, avoid heading down to the exam centre too early, especially if you're in the competing bunch. Trying to get the grades is bad enough without being surrounded by dozens of people freaking out about if they don't make the cut.

Show up early enough to literally have time to check your student no./seating arrangements and to collect your thoughts before the exam. Any last minute revision is best done before making your way to the centre.. in any module really, but especially in a competing subject.
