Good looking product. 160+vat yearly fee for a few txt messages seems excessive though. You'd want more than one of them too.

They look the job but yeah 2 would do me and rotate them onto nearest due to calve .. I wonder how they'd work outside in constant pissing rain and cows scratching against stone walls to try and get them off!

When you say delighted with it what do you mean - does it let him know fairly accurately before calving? Does it stay on ok ?

Another handy wee thing is they give you an online access to the device to see how many bar reception it has and what % battery remains, just to keep your mind at peace (a wee bit!) Mine charged but not in use yet

that's great as you might think she may be out of reception but I knbow they say that it will select any of the networks and just needs enough for text to send

I would be very interested to hear how the MooCall is working. The father in law just charged his last night , first cow due to calf on the 16th.

I got text at 19.56.. Shot down and water bag and feet coming correct .. Cow calved by 20.30... She third calver and a good cow to throw them out so they do tell you that mature cows you mightn't get the full hour notice

Can you set it so that your phone rings instead of getting a text? If a lad was sound asleep he mightn't hear a text coming through.

What if I don’t hear the text coming in at night?
Mobile phones can be set to recognize the Moocall number and we recommend that you set a specific ringtone for your Moocall alerts. Please refer to your phone settings.
There's an app for androids, and possibly for iPhones that flash the camera flash multiple times when a text comes in; room going disco-ball-mode will help wake ye up!

    This is what you get

You can go into contacts and change ringtone for text to be something v annoying and long to wake ya

Have only used it on 1 heifer so far. Got a text a 1:15 on Friday saying high activity. I couldn't get away from work so rang someone else to check her. She didn't calve until 3:30 but at least she only had to be watched for those 2 hours instead of up n down for a few nights in a row watching her. Happy with it so far but I'll know more as I get to use it a few more times

I'd say it would be a fair impediment for the bull

Not sure but if she was bulling others would be mounting her and smashing the life out of the tail monitor

Wouldn't risk leaving it on dry cow for this reason.

Bloody cow had the thing knocked off her tail this morning. Glad she wasn't on slats or it would be well injured I'd say.
