drinking a litre of avonmore protein milk everyday

is there any harm in drinking a litre of protein milk everyday. I find it a very easy way of getting 50g of protein straight away. love the taste and its easy to drink. Along with this normally take one protein shake so that's just over 70g.

its probably cheaper to just have more whey but the milk is just so convenient and I enjoy drinking it compared to protein shakes.

I drink a litre of it a day too

its very low fat and easy to drink

Im skeptical for some reason that it actually has 50g of protein for some reason

I have no reason not to believe it doesn't, I just choose to

it wont make you fat as its virtually fat free

Whatever about the benefits it'll give you a lighter pocket anyway.

    1.89 a litre

I drink a litre a milk or more regardless

when you purchase anything in life it will leave you with lighter pockets

unless you steal it which would be morally and legally wrong

Avonmore really pissed the bed when making this product. If they had equally reduced the fat and carbs and then increased the protein then fair enough, but instead the ballbags reduce the fat and increase the carbs and protein.

    Ballbag milk

My point is that they promote this product as "protein milk" but they have equally increased the protein and carbs.

    this has me wondering.......

I bought turkey mince last night, claims 0.8g fat per 100g and 25g of protein

but its just mince, id like to have an instrument to be able to confirm the nutrional claims on packaging

I don't believe half of it. does any board of standards ever verify or check up on the data on the packaging?

I doubt it, everyone was eating horse meat and god knows what else under beef

might just produce my own cows and food in the near future

yeah ok I wasn't typing and thinking at the same level

yes fatties get fat from excess calories and combining fats and sugars together

    my mistake

I don't need to worry about being fat like 99% of people on this forum

What I find baffling, everyone knows how not to get fat but most people I see are fatties

    WHY AND HOW?

read your own posts everyone and stop being fat:confused:

my point was that horse meat was in products that was being sold off as beef

I couldn't care really as I know the labeling on ALL food stuffs is lies

they could sell frozen **** in a bag and say its its a banana and who would know? who would?

It's a complete marketing ploy and most of these products are. Low fat generally means the fat has been taken out and has to be replaced with something in order to give it some form of flavor otherwise it would be smelly and unappealing (whey stinks) - Generally if something is low fat it's replaced with Sugar (i'm not sure about this product but it's a general rule of thumb)

Fats aren't necessarily bad thing, The word is.. It's sugar and carbs that generally turn to Fat.. unless you're training like mad, then there's nothing wrong with it.. if you're an athlete more carbs!

Good fats from Avocados/Nuts are actually very good for you!

But think about it though, Whey protein is a natural bi-product of all dairy goods but it stinks so they remove it to make it more appealing to wider market .. anything from Milk, Cheese and Butter.. none of these have whey protein because it's removed..

Cottage Cheese is essentially Cheese that hasn't had it's Whey removed and it's very unappealing but most weightlifters/bodybuilders will eat it as it has lots of good natural fats and an abundance of protein.

If this milk is high in protein and low in fat and is appealing to taste. Either you have very bizarre taste buds or they have added an extra appealing quality to it (as I mentioned above Sugar which turns to Fat..)

I'll check the label and come back to you. Sorry for the spiel but basic rule of thumb anything that's marketed from a big major food company as low in sugar, low in fat, low in ..etc. etc. will remove that and replace it with something else that's just as bad.

    EDIT:
    Found the label

    Nutritional Information per 100 ml

    Energy
    206kJ/49kcal
    Protein
    5.1g
    Carbohydrate
    4.8g
    of which sugars
    4.8g
    Fat
    1.0g
    of which saturates
    0.6g
    Salt
    0.11g
    Calcium(mg)
    165mg (21% RI)
    Vitamin B12(µg)
    0.4µg (16% RI)
    Vitamin D
    1.0 µg (20% RI)

Now this is for every 100mls you say you drink a litre a day so that's 10x

5.1g of Carbs of which is Sugars is 4.8g x 10 = 48 grams of sugar in a litre...
