How to make my abs VISIBLE

I'm 15 atm and I'm really striving to reveal the abs hidden under a layer of belly fat. I know it's there but they just aren't visible. So obviously, my question is: How do I reveal them? How do I get rid of the layer of belly fat that is covering up those abs?
Loads of people have probably already asked this question so let me be more precise...Recently I'v been looking at a few videos on Youtube, espcially Mike Chang's sixpackshortcuts videos on how to lose belly fat(not how to get abs). Currently, I sticking with Chang's "5 min belly fat destroyer" video on Youtube:

    youtu(dot)be/4uQtPyWkXcc
    ((dot)=.)

Will following this routine five times per week get me anywhere?I mean, if I do it for 10 minutes each time, that's barely an hour each week..but because there aren't any intervals in the video, it wouldn't be "easy" so I'm still feeling a burn even by 5 minutes of exercise..

Should I keeping to this to get rid of belly fat or is there a more specific routine designed for the sole purpose of losing belly fat does any know?

    EDIT:
Also, my height is 5'7'' and I weigh 65kg(just incase)

You can keep doing the exercises but the way to make your abs visible is by sorting out your diet to lose the fat.

Thanks for writing visible in capital letters.

Lose fat. Eat less calories than you need.

    Lift weights. Do sprint training.

Thanks guys^^, but will this current exercise regime be enough??

Probably not no , Chang is trying to peddle his programs and supplements , you'd do better off going outside and doing some HIIT Sprints or hill runs. If you play sports do some extra training for that.

You're not going to do anything meaningful for an hour a weeks worth of time , try putting in an hour or two a day and then you'll make better progress.

    Lose fat first.
You could do sit ups. Or watch videos about different exercises for the abs.

Lol I wish I was 15 again. 15/16 is the perfect age to start getting into lifting because after 3 or 4 years of consistent lifting with a decent diet you'd have a well above average physique while just approaching your early 20's. If you decide to start lifting properly then disregard the simple aim of having abs until closer to summer and spend more time eating to bulk.

I never do sit-ups either as they can have negative effects on your hip flexors which can contribute to sh!tty posture, which is another important thing everyone should be conscious about. Ab wheel and hanging leg raises would be the two best isolations for abs, other than that deadlifts are all I'd do.

If you want a visible 6 pack then its just a case of eating less. If they are still not visible you are still eating too much. No secret to this and no magic [...nonsurgical] "shortcut". They are various exercises that target the abs but they'll never be visible if hidden under a layer of fat and you can not spot reduce.

But do you really want this?
Do you want just a 6 pack with skinny arms/legs?
Focus on full body workouts; compound lifts like squats/bench/deadlift, build a good strength base on a bulk and if you want then go a cut after a few months to make them visible. Cardio can help add to you net calorie requirements but its mostly down to the diet itself. Good site -> http://simplesciencefitness.com/ clear and easy to follow.

Atleast you are trying, wish I did when I was 15 :( ...I didn't start till I was 25, set on my hole for those 10 years in between.

Generally all the people I know with good abs are very athletic and look after their diet 85-90% of the time.

These people train for a couple hours a day 5-6 days a week, for the last number of years. I am sure if you train hard you could do it in less, but its not easy

I guarantee Mike Chang did not get his body working out 10 mins a day. He is peddling false hope, as people think they will look like him they do these 5 min workouts.

Healthy diet and exercise 4 times a week for 40 mins + .

A 5 min workout is barely a warm up, there are lots of better (longer) workout videos on youtube try one of those.

There's no shortcut but being 15 you will lose weight faster as long as you stop drinking bottles of pop.

Agree with all above regarding losing the weight to get the abs showing
I was about 87kg a few yrs ago and carried a lot of weight around my stomach area, even though I would have considered to do some core work
There was no real visible ab definition when I was 87kg, within 4 months I dropped 8kg just by watching my diet and doing a bit more cardio exercises and you could see the ab definition starting to show

I came across a guy called Shin Ohtake and some of his workouts and have adapted some of these into my routine...what are peoples opinions of his ideas and workouts? I dont have time to get to a gym so I do all my workouts at home just using my own body weight, etc and increasing reps and intensity on occasions

HiiT + look after the diet.

    Every time i'm cutting.

The difference here is this kid is 15 and 65Kg.

Thats not a big dude and I am guessing has very little muscle mass. What I think the op is looking for is have a nice physique and having visable abs like Mike Change for example.

Not being 59Kg and have that waif, "ribs showing but look at my abs, and pencil arms and legs.".

The Key here is to build muscle. With decent muscle mass you will naturally have a faster metabolism and have easier chance at attaining what many would say the desired body with abs etc.

Get strong, eat well, be athletic and the abs will come.

Thanks guys,so HiiT and a healthy diet it is then.
-Marty, so basically gaining muscle mass is the first step and only then should I narrow my focus down to the abs?(Until then, just workout more(to gain muscle mass), do HiiT and eat healthy)
    -Ri Nollaig,thanks for the site!

To add to what Marty said...If you're bigger and stronger, everything else is just easier from there.

If you're looking to lose fat, having bigger muscles helps because more muscle mass burns more energy.

If you're looking to add muscle mass, being strong makes it easier because you can lift more.

It applies to your cardio too. If you're doing sprints with big muscley legs, you'll get through more energy than you would if you had little scrawny legs.

That's what it's about in the end, energy. And a big, strong athlete just naturally uses more energy.

Hiit is good for CV , and will burn energy no doubt but you will not build vast amounts of muscle doing it, very little in fact. I would suggest this if you were already big and looking to cut down and become more toned.

But going by your size and what I believe your goal is, you should focus on A.) Size/muscle building first and foremost ,B.) Hiit secondary to supplement this and keep up your cardio.

As complicated as many like to make it out. The process to building muscle is quite simple Eat Big, Lift Big.

Many years I "wasted" when I was around your age messing around with weights not understanding that If I wanted to actually have toned muscles I had to eat MORE. Not less. Diet is key here, Increase your calorie in take by 250 calories a day approx and see how you get on, once you stop gaining weight increase it again and so on. Focus on eating protein lean meats, eggs, cottage cheese etc and plenty of veg, only a little fruit. Eat good carbs like sweet potato, whole wheat and mutigrain if eating pasta or bread. Lift weights, and focus on heavy weights for fewer reps rather than lots of light weights.

If you are eating a higher calorie, high protein diet and lift weights you will build muscle and get stronger. The more muscle you have the more "fat" you burn to simplify things. You will of course always store a little fat when bulking up, but this can later be lost much quicker once you are bigger and then cut down to get toned, and then maintain.

disregard popular diet tips and advice out there as it is focused on people who want to loose weight not build muscle.

As mentioned above once you are bigger and stronger it will be much easier to develop the body you want.
