Casillas is done, I thought he would have lasted longer.
Why do you say that ?Have you been watching Real regularly this season ?

I dont know why but I have bad feeling about tomorrows game.

Tomorrow is a much bigger game then I would have orginally thought.

I do like the way that Van Gaal is happy to improve where possible.

Lindegaard is a perfectly adequate no. 2 keeper, but Valdes is better.
Hope he gets some games in the FA cup, and United will be challenging on all fronts next year.

Just like Buttner was an adequate back up defender, Welbeck can fill in up front where needed. Kagawa had a good game every now and then.

Players like Falcao or Blind are just better.

I think if he actually moved somewhere else, with the pressure off, he could potentially regain some form, but under the spotlight like he is at Madrid I just don't see it happening.

Not this season no, has he improved? He was on a serious downslope for a while though.

Our home record in the PL against Southampton, last 5 results against Southampton.
    October 2013 1-1 draw
    January 2013 2-1 win
Before that it was 2004 and we have three wins.

We are slightly suspect away to Southampton but have been very solid at home against them. Hope history repeats bar the last home result against them.

Heading over to this game looking forward to it immensely. I'm a little more confident in getting a win considering we are at home and also have a good few players coming back and the squad as a whole will have had a reasonable break from the madness of the Xmas / New Years schedule to be suitably rested. Should be a good game I'm going 2-1 United.

Before 2004 doesn't really mean anything. This new Southampton side have performed really well in their last 2 trips to OT. When Fergies side won 2-1 he said we were lucky to win it, and rightly so. Expecting a close-ish game but Utd to pick them off in the 2nd half.

There has to be doubts over De Gea staying when they sign a back up keeper of the calibre of Valdes. They won't be paying him a fortune to sit on the bench for nothing.

What kind of contract did Valdes sign Tyson?

Pay as you pay? How much per week?

Or are you talking out you're arse as usual?

We've a really good run of fixtures between now and March.
Obviously tomorrow is a test but then we have
    QPR (A)
    Cambridge (A)
    Leicester (H)
    West Ham (A)
    Burnley (H)
    Swansea (A)
    Sunderland (H)

I'd be expecting at least 6/8 wins Including tomorrows game there to cement the top 4 and obviously keep the F.A cup hopes alive.

The valdes signing was only slightly more baffling.

If we want de Gea to continuously improve, stern competition is not a bad thing. Players can get too comfortable sometimes and their career may stagnate as a result if they know their place in the team is as safe as houses.

Joe Hart was very good in 11/12 at a similar age to what de Gea is now. I wouldn't say he kicked on as expected at all.

Reina's career went to **** at Liverpool when he should've been entering the prime of his career as a GK.

Neither of the above had viable competition.

It's not like the people who usually warm the bench are on a pittance.....

    Falcao > Welbeck
    Valdes > Lindegaard

    Simples

    Falcao > Welbeck
    Valdes > Lindegaard

    Simples

And both are likely to have very little impact on the club this season. Falcao is not worth the 40 odd million that Monaco want, also the man is 30 next year. Lindegaard played well anytime I seen him. I was never a fan of Valdes. Don't like having such a high profile reserve goalkeeper. Don't see the need for it. Hope it doesn't affect de gea's confidence.

The more I think about the Valdes signing, the more I begin to question the reasoning behind it. Did we really need to sign a back-up keeper? Lindegaard has proven himself to be a fantastic second choice when needed. Then again, maybe Van Gaal just didn't rate Lindegaard at all. Has he even played this season? You would have expected him to play against MK Dons and Yeovil but he went with De Gea instead which was a tad odd.

I'd like to see Valdes make his debut against Cambridge.

If you're trying to imply the level of Linde and Valdes is in any way comparable you're just wrong brochacho.

I've no problem with LVG signing players we don't need but if it means that we don't sign players in positions that we actually need then I've a problem with it.

Didn't he sign on a free? I don't see how that would impact signing other players, if anything it helps make United look more attractive

He didn't trust Lindegaard obviously or he'd have played him a bit... there was already talk of him leaving for first team football before LVG came in. He's young he's going to want to be playing week in week out.

Do you understand how confidence works, if he was keeping a high calibre goalkeeper on the bench, he would obviously be feeling more confident, jesus, are you just mashing your head off the keyboard again or are you looking at what you're saying?

And next year, he will be 30 in February, he's talking a lot of nonsense, but he's at least right there.

I understand that but why not just say he's 29 next month? Because it doesn't look as bad.
