This gfy annoys me greatly. Check out the run from Herrera, and the predictable choice Valancia makes in the end. There's the crux of our whole problem right there in that 5 second gfy.

A 5 second go-****-yerself? What is this new phenomenon you speak of?

Just watching motd. It's so enjoyable seeing Mourinho not get his own way.

I like that, in the space of 24 hours, we went from "lol, draw with Cambridge, useless!" to "Bookies favorites to win the entire competition" :P

It's bittersweet. Softens the blow and we can deflect.

Still should have beat then though, and the team should have performed better

We still seem to have a hangover from last season and to a lesser extent the one before where players seem content to pass the ball then stand still to admire their work,it's as if they've forgotten the idea of movement.Look at the times it's brought out from the back and huge spaces open up as our players seem to move into odd positions that leave them marked out of the game with their backs to goal. This leaves our CB's who move out with zero options and the default then is knock it long or pass it back to retain possession.

Not to sound like Andy Gray but i could show you another 20 or 30 examples of that......
    (If i could do 'Gifs')

And...? I don't deny that you could, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if those 20 or 30 other examples came from the one match.

Always been that way for me! :D

Incidentally, that gif I posted wasn't to showcase Valencia playing anti-football, that could have been any of our backline with the ball as far as I am concerned. The team is playing it far too safe far too often was my overall point, even in matches versus lower league opposition.

I was looking at a selection of gifs showing Herrera's contribuation in the 25 minutes he played v Cambridge, it's here if anyone is interested, and that is where I found the original gif.

Oh, if anyone wants to click that link but doesn't want a page full of gifs loading, don't worry, the above link is to a description of the gifs where you can then click into whichever one you want to from there.

These gifs show a performance vs Cambridge, not Real Madrid, but Ander Herrera is currently going to waste at our club given the minimal gametime he receives.

Herrera gets the best out of Mata. He helps Di Maria too with his movement. He's a player that should be starting every game in my opinion for those two factors alone. We'd Carrick and Fellaini in midfield on Friday for God's sake. No surprise we moved the ball so slowly.

Good man Bebe, he was not far off immense in yesterday's game. He was a bizarre signing for us, and failure considering the fee, but it's good to see him shine on a big stage. Cordoba are only 2 points above the relegation zone in La Liga though, wonder is there still a bigger club in his future or is this is it for him.

He's only on loan at Cordoba, so if he impresses he might get another go at Benfica.

I really just wish this season would finish ASAP and we get 4th, then start again next season. I really think Arsenal are nailed on for top 4, 2 of their best players just getting back and from what I hear, a very decent defensive addition. Still so much of the season to go but the performances of late have been shocking, I'm also beginning to get worried about ADM and if that transfer will ultimately work out. Had so much faith in LVG but really beginning to worry :(.

    The mirror.....

Louis van Gaal has clashed with Manchester United’s money men by BANNING the club from lining up an exhausting pre-season tour, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

And the Old Trafford boss is on the brink of a spectacular victory by insisting that the traditional summer tour is done HIS way.

Van Gaal will take his stars to the USA in July but they will play three games on one coast only – not on both coasts like last year.

The United boss has told the Glazer family, who own United, that he wants a major tilt at winning the Premier League title next season and needs to cut back on the summer itinerary.

Van Gaal was horrified at the number of games and coast-to-coast travelling that United’s stars had to endure when he took over last year.

Huge interest: United's game against Real Madrid attracted 109,318

The details of this year’s tour have been thrashed out in the last few weeks and the final draft is on Van Gaal’s desk waiting to be signed off.

United’s money men want an extensive cash-spinning tour, with some games worth up to £2million from receipts and TV rights.

United played in front of the biggest ever football crowd in the US – 109,318 – last August when they beat Real Madrid 3-1 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

But Van Gaal vowed that while he is manager he won’t allow his players to be subjected to an excessive number of pre-season games.

United played five matches in just 12 days against LA Galaxy, Roma, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Liverpool on both coasts of America in 2014.

And after beating Liverpool in the International Cup in Miami, United returned to England to play Valencia in an Old Trafford friendly – making it a staggering six games in 19 days.

    From Twitter -

United goals scored after 25 games -

    2014-15: 38
    2013-14: 44
    2012-13: 58
    2011-12: 56
    2010-11: 53
    2009-10: 51

An exceptional drop from SAF :(

Then there are claims Pogba is learning Spanish, but then I started learning Spanish, because it is nice to increase one's language skills...

In fairness, he'll need that to communicate with our Spanish Mafia....

Pogba is an amazing player but we missed our chance with him. I, along with many other regular Utd posters was devastated when he was let go but going back with our tail between our legs to spend £60m or whatever it would take to get him would be a huge embarrassment.

To make matters worse, if Pogba came back and wasn't happy with how he was being played (which is quite likely under LVG), his agent would more than likely start angling for another move. I get the feeling Pogba, with Mino Raiola in his ear, will be one of those very talented players who moves around a lot in his career and I would prefer to see us sign someone who is more likely to stick around for the long haul at Utd.

I think we would be better off investing that money elsewhere on a less turbulent player(s).
