And if I was in the Pool thread I'd have said "I'm interested in Liverpool", or "I'm interested in Newcastle" or "I'm interested in Rangers"....or any other club I happened to be discussing if I was a supporter.

Some of your suggestions are wild, man.

If Coleman wants to go Bill will have a field day with the transfer fee again. it will be far closer to 30 than 20. No buy out clauses in any of the new deals signed at Everton in the last 2 years either.

I also can't see it happening in this window. Everton have no cover there apart from Hibbert.

Yes, he won them all single-handedly...

The point is that Danilo has 13 medals which is 13 medals more than Seamus Coleman. What exactly does this tell us? Little. But it tells us he has 13 more medals than Coleman so again, what is so special about Coleman? Apart from being Irish on an Irish forum....nothing. I'm not saying he's a dreadful player. He's not. He's a good footballer but that's it, a good footballer. There are better out there.

It tells us nothing of value, much like your posts tbf.

Calamity Evans has been ripped apart in every paper and forum over the last few days....

United should be looking to offload this joker. How he has managed to earn a living doing this escapes my comprehension.

What do you think of De Gea?

If it's a RB they need, I'd go for Clyne over Coleman too.

However maybe Coleman is an ideal wing back.

Anyhow if Coleman really did cost 30 million, them it may be worth spending this sort of dough elsewhere

Rafael is a good RB, and don't forget Jones or Smalling can also play there. Plus Valencia if stuck.

No they can't. I think last season proves that.

In a back four we have no one capable of playing cover-RB when (not if) Rafael is injured.

In a back three we have Valencia as an option, and Young too I think.

Regarding CB, regardless of system, Jones, Evans and Smalling can not be trusted to provide the spine of the defense. I wouldn't mind Jone or Smalling staying, providing they stay fit, but 2/3 have to go and be replaced by competent defenders.

So because one position needs strengthening more than another, the second position can't even be discussed.

If Coleman is available, then he should be got. Irregardless as to whether a CH is brought in, or not.

That isn't "prioritising" one over the other, it's getting an available player in a position where improvement is needed.
    irregardless ?

Ah if Jose can turn Cahill into a decent option to start in his team then United can turn the 3 lads into good options. None of them have played in a back 3 before this season so there is obviously going to be some bedding in. I have faith that they'll pick it up as they all regain fitness.

Don't think I saw the press conference for the Yeovil game posted in here yet. Louis took the exact words right out of my mouth; In games like these you either get Death or the Gladioli...

Also, an interesting look at the upcoming match from the point of view of the Yeovil captain Joe Edwards who is also a born United fan...

Here's a completely off topic question but would it be a good idea for United to either buy into or form a relationship with an MLS team for the purpose of buying young talent and sending them to the MLS for experience?

Surely its a better standard and better experience than the reserves? And could be beneficial to the MLS team too. Young English talent seem very reluctant to live abroad in Europe which is fair enough but I would say living in America is far more attractive than a country in Europe with a different language and culture. We are all very familiar with America even if we have never been there.

    Just a thought.

Hummels and Howedes were both targets for the Red Devils last summer, and both are now actively searching for a way out of their respective clubs.

Arsenal are also interested in the powerful centre-backs, but reports understand that the duo would rather move to Old Trafford over the Emirates.

it's a right wing back position looking to be filled not a rb, to be honest I would not like to see us spending mad money to get Coleman, is he worth 20 or 30 million? No hes not. I'd like to see us spending the money on a quality signing ,not someone that has had one good season,
    It's not the answer,

So you don't know which player you would keep but you would just keep one of them? I think both are well capable of playing part of a very good back 3. Again I would like to see money spent on A strong figured centre back. That's what we are missing. We never replaced Vidic and that was a big mistake. A back 3 of Jones/Smalling - Hummels - Rojo looks good to me.

Was thinking the same at the last Toronto FC game I went to, Wilson would destroy most teams here. A lot of people are of British or Irish descent in Ontario as well so he would be a local hero.

MLS has a load of restrictions on foreign players though with teams only allowed 8 foreign players in the whole squad. The player on loan would have to be on the higher level to justify taking a foreign player spot though which would rule out a lot of potential loan signings. Someone like Januzaj would fit but I think he would be better off at a lower table premier league club rather than the MLS. Basically anyone good enough to take a MLS foreign spot would be good enough to play at another premier league club so it would kind of defeat the purpose.

It's an rb slot as it will be 4 at the back when the option is there

So when we have a second rb it will be four at the back? That doesn't make sense this formation is taking shape and the players are getting use to it. LVG isn't going to change it.

Well we didnt have an rb there until the last game as raf was injured so it wasnt an option.

I think he 100% will change it eventually when we get the defence sorted. Its not his preferred formation.

Valencia has played right back as cover aswell , Rafael only came on when young got injured.

United have joined Chelsea in keeping tabs on Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane. (Marca)

Real have an array of talent in central defence and could be willing to let Varane leave for a fee of around £19m.

According to reports in Spain, United are looking to sign Varane and are readying a £19m move for the 21-year-old.

    Yes please.

The transfer window is bad enough but the Marca-go-round is actually infuriating.

Rafael has been on the bench for the Last four games. If he's injured then he's not going to be in the squad.

I don't know, regardless (did I get it right? ;) ) of the defence getting sorted, we are playing well under it, I think get in a rwb and a quality centre or two and another central midfielder we will have good strong squad .
