I have fish in a tank and find them boring enough. What other pets can be deemed as boring?

Get some more fish. It's probably lonely.

Put a ring of fire in the tank and watch the fish jump through it

Have about 10 in the tank now. Apart from feeding and cleaning out the tank there's no other real interaction with them. It's not like you can take them out and play with them.

Go in and swim around with them. They probably think you're boring too!

I've a gimp in the cellar. Seems to recoil everytime I visit.

For me, the fascination with fish is the creation of a miniature Eco system. it's like permaculture in a glass tank.

I'd need a slightly bigger tank for that to happen haha.

I wonder do the majority of people buy 'boring pets' like fish to function as a home decoration or something you can love and look after like a dog. Genuine question.

You need a piranha. You'll see them dance then.

Surely they have fulfilled your expectations?
Or what did you think they would do.

    We have
2 goldfish - greedy and goldy, not so exciting.
4 chickens - kids love them and we get eggs 9 months if the year.
2 pigs - interesting creatures, fun to feed, kids named then rasher and sausage, to be killed and in the freezer in Feb.

What a stupid thread. Complaining about your boring pets?

    You're boring.

I don't think you're trying hard enough. Dress up as one and throw yourself in the tank with them, try to get to really know them, understand their culture ya know.

My brother kept a snail when he was a kid.
A right boring bastard of a pet.

We've fish, cats, dogs, a pony, 2 sheep and a cow. Fish are relatively boring but good for teaching kids the responsibility of having a pet.

    And they're easily replaceable....

The dullest cat is more interesting than most people.

Drain all the water out and it gets interesting....for a minute or two.....

My kids wanted them so we got them. Wasn't sure what to expect from them to be honest. Had a catfish in the tank and it was amazing to see that cleaning around the tank.

I had a terrapin for about 10 years. Some people thought her to be boring, but to me she was fascinating. Its a very subjective thing. Fish can be interesting or dull depending on which fish you have.

You think so? I find replacing kids to be bloody expensive and time consuming.

Dead parrots are boring, unless they feature in a Monty Python sketch.

They can be but they can also be loveable, charming, and funny. Cats make great pets which is why they are the world's most popular pet.

    Cats aren't pets.

    Cats have pets.

    And they find them boring.
