Abusing it is the reason we'll end up not having it.

The postage prices to IE are often unfair and not reflective of the weight/size of the items, though. If you put a huge amount of custom Amazon' way and get ripped off for postage..:/

Not sure what the PMing was about. You buy stuff you don't want to get over the spend limit and then cancel that stuff.

They'll get sick of it eventually and end up no more free postage at all. They're gonna have to do something to actually make money at some point.

I Would absolutely appreciate the free shipping trick. It would help me out so much. Here's hoping.

i tried that, total items came to £34 but I was charged another £40 in postage, they were all small items, not heavy?

when I search do I have to click the free delivery on the left hand side in the filter search options? or what do I have to do?

    thanks.

The items you buy need to be eligible for super saver delivery, either sold by Amazon or full filled by Amazon. Direct from 3rd party sellers will not work. Iv been doing it for years. Add on items used to work but they have blocked those now.

Can someone please outline how this free shipping trick is supposed to work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,625 ✭✭✭Thor

I was thinking it was a different way of getting the free shipping.

I was planing on getting the 2015 records, and you can't really argue with that price.

Amazon have some very cheap deals with couriers and postal crowds so I wouldn't be worried about their postage profits. I got a small stick of makeup yesterday and it arrived in a box that could take 6-7 DVDs

its not a trick. Its simply put something on preorder e.g. The Order 1886 with your item, click super saver delivery and then Amazon splits it into 2 deliveries for you. When they have shipped the item you want, cancel the pre order item. You are only charged for the item you receive and no delivery cost.

However sometimes they may keep them until the preorder item arrives in to stock so keep an eye on it and you may have to cancel the complete order

Have Amazon copped on to that trick or did I do it wrong? I cancelled the expensive item and it then removes the free delivery and asks me to pay more for delivery.

Surely the more people that know about this the better the chance of it becoming worth while for Amazon to close the loophole. You are benefiting from free postage, do you want it to stop and why do you think no one else has posted it except via PM?

Please please think about removing your post.

Uh, okay then. I've removed the free-shipping-with-no-minimum-spend instructions from my previous post. So if anyone wants the instructions just ask for a PM about it and I'm sure bromley52 will message you ;)

And I don't think it's such a big deal if Amazon closes that loophole anyway. It's usually painless to accumulate £25 worth of stuff before ordering. And Amazon is a real monster so I don't think it's a priority for them if they lose a tiny portion of their Irish profits from people who've used the loophole after learning it through boards.ie.

And we still have the super super sneaky debit card trick anyway :P

Amazon make £0 they are expanding and selling at the price it costs them to operate.

No Bull. They make £0, not even in a tax scam way either. They actually make £0.

After they expand their grocery dept and destroy the supermarkets, like the supermarkets destroyed local shops. Maybe they will increase their prices... like the supermarkets.

I'd love to hear about the free postage if anyone would be willing to send me a pm! :)

I tried the "trick". Got charged for postage without accepting the charge. Complained to them and got the postage cost refunded (Over £7).

I always make sure my orders are amazon fulfilled and up buying stuff I don't really want just to get free delivery.
is it the pre order trick that everyone is asking pm for, and what is the debit card trick?
