Same here. I wonder if it's only available at that price on Stephen's day and you have to go into the store. Although I just saw an ad on TV for Currys UK saying that sale has started now!

Is there an actual law where they must honour things like this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,269 ✭✭✭kc66

No. They have t&cs normally to cover things like this happening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,822 ✭✭✭liam7831

Have seen it happen before and then can cancel the orders if they make a mistake. I have one reserved so maybe they will honour it in the festive spirit :)

As in you have paid for 5, or you have received 5 separate confirmation emails?

ive got 5 conformations saying it is paid for and will be delivered

That means nothing if they don't want to honor it at the incorrect price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Technoprisoner

5 different emails confirming my purchase the first at 20:18 and the last at 20:42

i dont know if they ahave taken payment but i imagine if they did that they would of entered into a contract and would have to honour it

    Nope. Not until it's despatched.

    From Currys T & C's

Our contract after you have ordered

Firstly, don’t panic if you make any mistakes during your order, you can correct any input errors right up until you confirm payment.

Once you’re happy everything is correct and you’ve submitted an order you’ll be given an Order Reference Number and details of the products (and/or services) you have ordered. You’ll then receive an email headed ‘Order Acknowledgement’ recognising receipt of your order. We will then send a further email headed ‘Order Confirmation’ and this is when our contract with you begins. This second email also lets you know how your products will be delivered to you. If we have to cancel all or part of your order for any reason, we will email you to let you know.

Sometimes we have to hold our hands up and admit we have made a mistake by unintentionally publishing inaccurate information on the site (e.g. the price, description or availability of a product you have ordered). In this instance we may have to cancel your order at any time up to the point we send you the product(s), even if you have received your Order Confirmation email, and you will receive a full refund of any charges already paid.

Wrong. A confirmation indicates they have entered into a contract. He was invited to treat at a price(albeit wrong) and confirmed his intention to buy and they confirmed their intention to sell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Technoprisoner

i will wait in hope that i get it at the price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,077 ✭✭✭percy212

How about sharing some of those confirmations? Tis the season!

Now showing as €299... If I hadn't gone to mass I may have actually gotten this bargain...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 863 ✭✭✭boardzz

Harvey Normans has them for 299 so it more than likely was a mistake earlier.

Not the case, as has been proved with similar errors before.

And has been proved thousands of times over were the order is simply cancelled once the mistake is realised. Until the product is dispatched they have the right to cancel.
I do hope they honour it for the people who got in early, but that would just be good will, not their obligation.

Authorised and set aside by your bank. You'll get it back in about 10 days. Sorry, but I really can't see Currys honouring any of these orders.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,240 ✭✭✭Kaizersoze81

Ordered 3 of these. Money taken from bank. 1 for me 2 for adverts :D

    'Course he was.

That said, there's much worse going on on adverts these days. There was a time I remember getting a ban for advertising a poxy "hacked" media device, though that was back in 2008.

    How times have changed

There a few months ago they let a one set up a store selling high end good like PS4s, iPads and so on basically if you asked her for something she would put it up for sale for 200 euros less then cost price for stuff and say she is getting a trade discount. But the catch was you had to wait 7 days where her to order you item another 7 days to get the item and then another 7 for you. Theses for all business days so you won't be able to get a refunded for being scamed and the she was reported over 100 times for it and adverts never removed her store.

I think over 100 people was scamed by this person and over 10K was taking from people coming up to x mess she also was setting up fake accounts to feedback.
